I think that's an interesting point, but recent Marvel comics have not only Tony Stark's secretary donning Iron Man armor, but the guy from "Project Runway." It sort of leaves a person with the impression that the main thing is acquiring the tech, not mastering it. . .
But that's more a complaint about lame plot points elsewhere. As someone way upthread pointed out, the really interesting thing here is the fact that, after all these decades, a villain from the Spider-Man rogues gallery is being considered a Universe-wide threat.
