Blackest Night: Green Lantern #46 Preview
IGN has the full preview as the resistance against Blackest Night begins.

I couldn't choose which page to post, so I just stuck to the awesome cover. I'll let the scans_daily group peer over the pages and speak their minds.

Speaking of...In my mind, I can hear the action theme from the movie "Aliens" as the battle goes on.

Brains........

And the GL uniform is? It may not show skin, but it certainly leaves nothing to the imagination.

I think the complaints are hilarious, considering the whole reason for the skin-tight uniforms in comics is that most artists can draw a naked body better than they can draw clothes on it. That's what almost all superhero costumes are, naked bodies with color and accessories. To the penciller they're ALL naked.

Except with people like Quitely or Chaykin, who actually know how clothes drape. Even skin-tight ones.

Yeah, but both of those guys drawn OOGLY faces. Quitely's women always look like old hags.

Is it wrong that I sort of hope someone passes her a shawl or a poncho or something? It can be sparkly pink if it has to be, but thinking about that outfit in the absolute coldness of space makes me flinch.

While the whole red energy, cool costume, and getting to hang around with a kitty in tights is all fun, I'd pass when they mentioned the whole getting your blood pumped out. I'd just skip ahead and join those blue hippy lanterns.

Sinestro has probably been the best character for this entire story(and by story I mean Rebirth until now). I wonder if he actually cares/cared about Amon(his "nephew") or perhaps his attitude was more " the legacy of my friend is this putz?"

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the corp for Love are all women in skanky outfits? Why are there no normal looking - oh right, comics. Fine, but why are there no men in the Star Sapphires? Are they trying to say that only woman use love as a weapon?

The Star Sapphires have more unfortunate implications than Michal Jack - uh, I mean, a - a guy with... with unfortunate implications.

...damn, this used to be easier.

Don't we complain about the Sapphire's sexism every post they appear? Johns himself was questioned on it. I think his reply was something like women understand love better than men, or something.

He said that men can become Sapphires but most of them "are not worthy".

...I think I recall an interview saying there was going to be a male Sapphire playing a very important role soon?

I honestly would not have minded if they took Phyla-Vell's Quasar outfit, made it pink and violet and white and made it look like a holy Nun's/Priestess outfit. That would have made it more intimidating, like holy warriors instead of strippers-in-space.

...The entire damn universe. The universe which, it has been established for fifty-some years, is full of aliens. Alien insects. Alien chipmunks. Alien creatures with no concept of light. Alien plants and hive-mind colonies and weird crucified demons and whatever Salakk is. Alien sentient planets. And one gender in the binary division of one species on the edge of the galaxy qualifies, almost without exception, as "not worthy", while the other one doesn't? What if your species has five genders, or no gender, how do you work out if you count as a man and are therefore disqualified? What sets men, males of the sentient species native to Earth of sector 2814, apart from every single other option in the galaxy?

On the plus side, Star Sapphire's costume on that cover allows for the possibility that her nipples are located about where you'd normally expect. Hooray.
