As a wizard, Teddy was used to strange and unusual things, but for him, it was just a part of everyday life. Atlantis was supposed to be a fictional place, just a legend. Then against, Teddy was from the wizarding world, kept secret and hidden from muggles. In time, the stories of wizards and witches in the muggle world turned to myth as well. He could understand how it might be possible, and this all might be real, but it was difficult to grasp. Everything was a bit of a blur with his arrival, and he had yet to try and find anyone he may know from his world. His first thoughts went to Victoire, he hoped that if she was here, that she was all right. Teddy sighed heavily. At this moment he was standing in front of a door that would lead him to his new living space. There was a lot about this place that Teddy wanted to explore, but he wanted to check back in the room he awoke from. And he could do with a little rest too. After everything he had just went though, he was already mentally exhausted. Regardless, there was a lot for Teddy to do at the moment. He unlocked his door, and walked inside and took in his new living space. It looked like a hotel, nice, very nice actually. The sort of rooms you’d see in magazines for luxurious hotels. His eyes narrowed when he stared back at the beds. He remembered it before, but it was like it suddenly clicked in his head. “Doesn’t do much for privacy,” Teddy muttered. Now that he was more fully awake, and was able to get some fresh air, he was taking a good look around. Why was she surprised? There was absolutely no reason to be surprised. Lissa had been magically kidnapped to another land once before, why would she be surprised that it would happen again. This as extremely different from Breckenridge and she had a deep fear of what was happening in Breckenridge without her, regardless she had to take a deep breath and just adjust to the fact that this was going to be life now. Lissa had been in the bathroom washing her face when she heard a sound. She wasn't surprised that this was going to be a roommate situation, she only wondered how Atlantis had decided to split them up, was it going to by interests? Homeworlds, jobs? She had so many questions as she reached for a hand cloth to dry her face. Reaching back she started to pull her long blond hair into a ponytail as she entered the shared room. "I guess it could be worse." She said with a soft smile deciding the best thing to do was to be calm. She finished with the last twist of her ponytail and held her right hand out to her new roommate. "I'm Lissa." Give the two beds, it wasn’t entirely surprising that there may be another person in the room, but when Lissa walked out, he was caught off guard. He blinked a few times, and then realized he was being quite rude by now shaking her hand. “Sorry! Sorry!” Teddy said quickly as he reached out and shook her head in greeting. “I didn’t expect them to give me a female roommate.” His head tilted slightly as he analyzed his words. “Not that there’s anything wrong with females. I didn’t mean it like that.” His hand went to the back of his neck as he shifted uncomfortably. “I suppose I thought it’d be something like Hogwarts. The dormitories are separate.” He looked around the room. “Then again I suppose there might be a way to charm something, a blanket to hang down or one of those privacy screens.” His thoughts went to the implications of what sort of charm or spell he could use or if there was a place here in Atlantis that he could buy a privacy screen. “Sorry, being rude, ” Teddy said when he realized he hadn’t introduced himself. “I’m Teddy Lupin.” Lissa's expression stayed polite and kind, she tried hard not to giggle a bit. It was completely understandable that someone might freak out by this and be unsure of how to handle this. Lissa had walked a lot of people through getting used to Breckenridge and while she was still trying to figure out Atlantis herself she at least had a little bit more help. "It's okay." She said nodding. "I know this is all really overwhelming," Lissa added keeping her voice calm in an attempt to be more comforting than not. "So, you're from Harry Potter." She commented as he rambled on about how to get more privacy. Lissa wasn't too worried about it, she figured she'd just change in the bathroom and otherwise it was what it was. "I'm sure we can figure out something." She agreed, all the same, to make it clear she was fine with whatever would make him more feel more comfortable. "You're not being at all." She said. "It's nice to meet you, Teddy." “Yeah, you could say that again, ” Teddy replied with a laugh, but his smile faded when she mentioned Harry Potter. “What do you mean? I know him, he’s my godfather.” He certainly didn’t recognize her, but even in 2021, Harry Potter was still a name to be remembered. Everyone knew his name, and he’s sure they will centuries from now. “It’s nice to meet you too, Lissa.” She certainly seemed like a nice girl, but he wondered what Victoire would think about him sharing a room with another woman. Not that anyone would happen, she seemed nice but of course, he’s completely loyal to his girlfriend. Then there was the possibility of Victoire not being here, but he couldn’t think about that now. It would be too painful for him to think about not knowing when he was going to see his girlfriend again. Lissa gave a puzzled look as she figured out that he somehow hadn’t been told they were fictional, she thought most in Atlantis already knew that but she knew how overwhelming it was to see so many people arrive at once. “In my world, Harry Potter is a book series, just like I’m from a book series in this world and the world I was in before.” She said softly. “I know it is really confusing, but according to the hologram we were brought here to try and help fight against something trying to take away all of our worlds.” She explained. “So they weren’t lying then?” Teddy asked suspiciously. He knew what the hologram said, but Teddy wasn’t exactly first in line to believe what it had said. He remained suspicious, even if he was brought to help fight against, whatever it was, he hadn’t heard anything about it since. Nothing but that worlds could be in danger. He wasn’t exactly about to believe anything they’ve said after the whole kidnapping thing. Not to mention he didn’t believe they needed him, Teddy wasn’t a fighter, he wasn’t a soldier or an Auror. He’s smart, yes, but he’s nothing like the people his parents were, he was a teacher. “The World you in before? So something like this has happened to you before? And you don’t think that’s suspicious at all?” This Lissa certainly seemed nice, didn’t seem like the type at all to lie, but the truth was he didn’t know her. He didn’t know what she was capable of, who she answered to. For all he knew, she could be working for the people that brought him here. The feeling he got told him she was all right, but it did seem mental to believe in all of this. “Where you were before,” Teddy started. “Did you fight for the people who took you from your home? Is that what this is? Being kidnapped and forced to fight in a war?” It certainly seemed like something straight out of a science fiction shows he’d watch on the telly, amazing but still concerning. “No, they weren’t lying.” She told him very carefully trying not to startle him any more than he might already be. It was hard getting used to the idea of being fictional, Lissa knew how hard it was for her at first but that was so long ago now that she didn’t even think about it too much. At least here people would all find out the truth. “Where I was before was very different,” Lissa said softly. “It was a town in Colorado where we had to set things up for ourselves. It was different, very different.” She thought about it, knowing that she was worried about leaving behind the BATD. “We protected each other there.” She added with a shrug thinking about the situation they were in here. “If it’s true, which I don’t think they are lying, all of our worlds are in trouble. If we need to fight for our worlds, then, yeah, I’ll do what I can.” Teddy listened to her carefully, and it was true that he had no reason to distrust her. Lissa had been kind to him from the moment they met, even if it was only a few minutes ago. The idea of it all, though, minus the danger of battling for the safety of different worlds, all of it together made him smile. He couldn't quite believe this was really happen, and to him, out of all the people, they could choose from. Of course, he didn't know who else from his home world was here, he imagined if anyone would be it'd be Harry. Then again, he'd have enough war, but he was one of the bravest people Teddy knew, that was still alive anyway. "Blimey," Teddy said scratching the back of his head. "Well I suppose it could be worse, and you're right, if we really have to fight to keep our worlds safe, then yeah, doesn't seem right to turn back now, does it? Even if I'm not much of a fighter." “Fighters come in all shapes and sizes and do so many different things, it’s not all about just rushing into battle with weapons drawn… so to speak.” Lissa insisted, perhaps she’d spent too much time having to explain that some battles had nothing to do with actually fighting. “What did they assign you to do?” She asked figuring that might be a good way to learn more and just get a better understanding of her new roommate. “Suppose so.” Agreed Teddy. He was still hesitant, unsure of what his teaching duties had anything to do with fighting a war. Not that it was going to cause him to leave, if they brought him here, then there must be something that he can do to help. “Teaching,” Teddy said. “Magic, and Trainer.” He smiled. “I’m actually really looking forward to it. It’s what I wanted to do back home, be a Professor at Hogwarts. Not sure which field of study yet, though, something like Charms or Transfiguration, it’d be great to get a bit more field experience. In the meantime, I was turning. Some kids in our world go to muggle primary schools, but others will get a tutor. What about you?” Lissa answered his question before suggesting they go look around their new residence. It seemed as though there was a lot to see and she figured it would do them both some good to see exactly what was around the tower they were in. |
