11th February - New Friend Daisy Johnson ✦ Ezra Bridger
Making a New Friend PG/Low Complete |
“Huh.” Daisy’s brow furrowed as her hand passed over the items in her closet, pausing when it arrived at an unfamiliar looking jacket. It was cool, something she’d normally wear, but she had no memory at all of buying it. “Weird,” she muttered to herself before shrugging and reaching to pull it off the hanger. Random coats from nowhere weren’t the strangest thing to happen in Atlantis by far. She’d met her kids from multiple futures, watching others turn into people and creatures who weren’t their normal selves, seen and done a lot of weird things. This was nothing. No sooner had she pulled the jacket away and started to slip it on than a boy appeared in front of her. Daisy let out a startled yelp, even though she really shouldn’t have been surprised. “Uh, hi,” she said, recovering quickly. Leave it to Atlantis to find a way to surprise her again. Ezra was rather attached to his jacket. For one thing, he’d had it for a long time and it was one of the few things he had from home. Growing up the way he had, he hadn’t had a lot of possessions period so losing his jacket had not made him happy. He was more than a little surprised to see that Daisy had it and he hurried over to her. “Hey, there it is. How did you end up with my jacket?” he asked. This place was weird, he already knew that but his clothes didn’t usually end up somewhere they shouldn’t be. “Uh, how did you end up spontaneously appearing in my closet?” Daisy challenged. A random piece of clothing she didn’t recognize was one thing, but having a whole person appear right there was something else. Yeah, this was Atlantis, but this was still pretty weird. “I don’t know. I opened my closet and you had my jacket,” he said and took it from her. “Thanks by the way. So I guess this is one of those weird Atlantis things huh? Better to appear in the closet than in the bathroom I guess.” “Yeah, definitely.” Daisy laughed, stepping back to let him out of her closet and gesturing towards the common area of the apartment she shared with Mason Ashford. This kid looked close to the same age as Mason, actually. She wondered if they knew each other. “So, hi, this is a really weird way to meet someone, but I’m Daisy,” she offered, holding out her hand to him. He took her hand and grinned. “Ezra,” he said “Ezra Bridger and I promise I didn’t look through anything in your closet.” This place never ceased to amaze him. “You never know what might happen here, huh?” “That’s an understatement.” Daisy couldn’t help a soft chuckle as she led him into the living room. After over a year in Atlantis, she would never be completely used to it, but she’d learned to take most of it in stride. “You want a drink or something?” she asked him, trying to be a good hostess even if it was a really bizarre visit. “Sure. i should tell you that I’m not eighteen yet even if no one really cares about that where I come from. I wouldn’t want you to get in trouble or anything.” Ezra wasn’t sure that Atlantis was really that concerned about such things either but he might as well be honest in case someone was checking up on him. “Uh, I meant like a coke or something,” Daisy laughed. He was obviously just a kid. There was no way she was getting him drunk. She wasn’t that screwed up. “I might have some food around here, too, if you’re hungry,” she added and she got up to go toward the fridge. “A coke, yeah, that would be good” Ezra had no idea what soda was before he came here but it he liked it. “We don’t have that where I come from. And sure, I’ll take something to eat.” “Coming right up,” Daisy called from the kitchen as she searched for something, well, edible. She didn’t know why, but she felt compelled to get to know this kid who was sitting in her living room and she figured it was an impulse she might as well follow. Snacks, she felt, were essential for this. |
