Rose wasn't going to admit just how much she'd missed Dimitri while he was away. She'd been feeling weird all week, some weird compulsion that had made her already playful and flirtatious nature even more prominent, but the one person she really wanted to direct those comments at hadn't been here. At least, he hadn't been until now. Rose heard his approaching footsteps even before she heard the soft click of the door opening. “Hey, handsome,” she said softly, careful not to wake their son, when he came through the door a moment later. Her eyes drank him in hungrily and while she might not be willing to admit she'd missed him out loud, it definitely showed in her expression. She walked toward him slowly, taking her time and she didn't both to try to hide the admiring way her eyes swept over his body. Even in jeans, a t-shirt and that duster he never seemed to go without, he looked unbelievably hot. After over two weeks away, she was more appreciative of those good looks than ever. Dimitri was happy to be home. He had missed Rose and Ivan very much and while he knew this wasn’t likely to be the first time they’d be separated because of a mission, he hoped it wasn’t going to be frequent. “Hello there,” he said, putting his arms around her. “I’m very glad to see you. Although right now, there seems to be only one of you,” he grineed. “Does this mean that Ivan is asleep? This has potential.” “Abducted by aliens,” Rose said with a completely straight face. “I'm sure they'll return him eventually.” She wasn't a fan of this whole being separated thing, either. It wasn't a first for them, by any means. Their guardian jobs at home sometimes required them to work opposite shifts. They could often go days without seeing each other. That was a life Rose hadn't loved for over two years, though, and this was the first she hadn't seen him every day in several months. She'd just started to get used to his constant presence in their bed again. Having to sleep alone had made her decidedly cranky. “How glad is very glad?” she asked him, lazily wrapping her arms around his shoulders and pressing herself close to him. “Well as long as they bring him back, that’s fine,” Dimitri raised an eyebrow when she pressed herself against him. “Well I would say that I’m glad enough to do just about anything you would like for me to do to you. Scratch that. I will do anything that you want me to do. All you have to do is ask.” He leaned in and kissed her, pulling her close. It felt good to be able to have this with her, to not have to worry about what anyone thought or about their duties to other people. They could enjoy their lives for once. “I have to ask now?” There was a mock pout on Rose’s face that lasted for all of a second, maybe two, before his mouth gave hers other things to do. Soon she was smiling against his lips as she returned his kiss and her body was pressing even closer to him, if that was possible. When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers. “So do we make to the bedroom or not. Personally I wouldn’t mind throwing you against the wall,” he moved to kiss her neck. “I have missed you so much, you can’t even imagine.” Rose dropped all pretense of just being mildly happy he was home, then. She tilted her head to him him easier access to her neck. “Good god, I missed you,” she admitted. She was pretty sure she could imagine how much he’d missed her, but it felt good to hear him say it. “That wall idea sounds promising,” she added as she started to work on relieving him of some of his clothing. “Bedroom’s too far away.” He didn’t argue with her, instead he let her undress him and before too long neither of them was wearing anything. Dimitri agreed that the couch was much closer than the bedroom and they took full advantage of that fact. Some time later, with Rose curled on his chest and his fingers in her hair, Dimitri reached up and pulled a light throw over them. “We should probably actually get up and go to bed in order to sleep,” he said. “Although this feels nice. I don’t want to move.” Laughing softly, Rose shifted so she could look at him. “Hey, we’ve slept in less comfortable spots,” she teased before remembering again that he didn’t remember a lot of those adventures. Most of the time it didn’t matter and she shrugged off the weirdness pretty easily. The life they were building here in Atlantis together was more important than whatever he didn’t remember about the one they’d shared anywhere else. “We’ll have to move when Ivan wakes up, anyway,” she pointed out, keeping her voice low and hoping that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. “I think we should take advantage of whatever time we can get out here.” It wasn’t often they got a long moment alone like this, between their duties to Atlantis and a baby to take care of. They might have to move eventually, but she intended to take a moment to enjoy it first. |
