After the conversation with Rebecca the other day, Lissa had really dived into trying to figure out more of a connection to how everything fit together in the current missions. She tapping the back of the pen against her desk as she looked down thoughtfully. She heard Dimitri come up before he knocked lightly on the door, turning she smiled at him. “This is a surprise,” she said putting down the pen and standing up. “Everything okay?” She asked for a second worrying there was something wrong with Rose, Ivan, Taisia or Alex. Dimitri had always liked Lissa and now that he knew what a huge role she had played in giving him back his life, she meant even more to him. He just wasn’t good at reaching out to people though he was getting better. “No, nothing’s wrong,” he smiled. “I was just in the building dropping off the weekly training reports and I thought I’d stop by and see how you were.” she looked tired and he wasn’t surprised. They all were, things had started happening all of a sudden and most of it made no sense. “How are you doing? Between the wedding and all the things going on around here?” Granted, he knew nothing about planning a wedding. He had just done what Rose asked him to do and he was fine with that. It had been a simple ceremony but it had been perfect and he’d never forget it. Lissa relaxed a little bit, she knew with Atlantis anything was possible. Sometimes it was strange how the above ground and below ground of the building felt so vastly different. She was always glad she was above ground. “I’m doing well,” she was, she was busy but that wasn’t anything new for her. “Neal is luckily very active in wedding planning and Elizabeth has taken over a lot of the details.” She was really glad she was marrying into a family with an event planner, it made it easier for her to really focus on her job and get to enjoy the planning. “That’s nice. Elizabeth has certainly been busy here with weddings,” he smiled. “I’ve lost count of how many there have been since we came here.” Dimitri and Rose had been among the first although she had come from somewhere else before she was here. “And babies. There have been a good many babies. Ivan used to be the only one and now he has playmates and at least one future girlfriend. Or so “She sure has been busy,” Lissa agreed, weddings, birthday parties, there were a lot of little things that seemed to keep the event planner busy. Lissa nodded as Dimitri brought up the kids. “He might be a little bit young to really think about his future that much, at least in that way.” Lissa laughed softly. “But, it’s good he has more friends around now, and more on the way.” There were a few people pregnant right now. “He’s way too young for that. So is she for that matter. By the time they’re old enough to think about such things, who knows what might happen?” It was many years in the future that was for sure. Although time was flying faster than he would like. “I try not to think about but the girls will be getting married long before Ivan. Neither has a steady boyfriend as far as I know but that’s not the kind of thing that a girl would tell her father I imagine.” His father hadn’t been around and his sisters had never talked to him about such things so he had no idea. “I only hope they find someone who will make them happy and be good to them so that Rose and I don’t have to threaten to beat him up. Although Taisia and Alex don’t really need our help when it comes to that.” Lissa smiled softly. “You never know.” “Have you talked to them about if they’re seeing anyone?” Lissa knew sometimes it wasn’t so much not telling someone as much as being asked about it. She knew Alex had wanted to find love but hadn’t yet. Especially after Breckentale and Peter ending up with Mia. Taisia had some touch and go with potential boyfriends and was keeping anything she might be feeling close to her vest. “They both are capable of taking care of themselves.” “Alex is more likely to open up about it than Tai I think,” he replied. “As far as I know she isn’t seeing anyone, she has a lot of friends but she’s never said anything about anyone special. Tai? I don’t know. She would tell her mother before she told me I think but she and her mother had lived another life before they came here and then I showed up. But I think any guy would be lucky to have them. I’m biased though.” The whole time thing was hard to understand sometimes and even though he knew that Alex and Taisia wouldn’t come into their lives until later in their own world, he was very glad they were here and he had the chance to get to know them. Lissa supposed she could have phrased it more directly if he had asked them but she decided it wasn’t worth clarifying what she meant at that moment. “They both are wonderful.” Lissa agreed. She was closer to Alex, mostly because they were both spirit users and bonded over their unique abilities. “How are things down in the training rooms?” She asked switching the conversation. “Busy. People seem to be coming and going more often now so the mix is constantly changing. I don’t mind it though. What’s really amazing is seeing some of the people who’ve been here since we got here and how they’ve changed and grown. It’s nice to see.” There had been a few that he had wondered how they ended up here and those were the ones that surprised him the most. It was rewarding to know that he’d had a hand in their training. |
