Padma had to admit that this place certainly led her to meet many more intellectuals. Some were more peculiar than others, but then, wasn't that usually the caveat when it came to people with intelligence? Their intelligence came at a price and it usually led to slightly quirky personalities to most people. Parvati had never understood her when she was younger; however, they had grown closer as twins over the years. Padma had spent much of her youth trying to fit in and it wasn't until about fifth year that she really branched out and did her own thing. Now, she was amazed at the friends that she could make here. When she'd decided to try her hand at making a wand for Stephen Strange, it was mostly a challenge to herself to see if she could. She honestly didn't know if she'd be able to do it or if he'd be able to use magic. Wand making was not one of her skill sets. It was just something she'd tried. And it had turned out pretty darn well, if she did say so herself. But whether or not it could actually cast a spell was something left to be unsaid. Maybe they could experiment with him trying his hand at her wand, but it was never stronger with someone's borrowed wand. She'd felt sorry for Ron Weasley when his wand had been broken and he'd needed to borrow a wand from one of his siblings, knowing that his magic wouldn't be used to its full potential during that time. When Stephen would come into her room, he would find a comfortably decorated room. Since Gene had gotten engaged and moved out of their room, Padma had added a plant or two on the other side of the room to make it seem less empty. She'd acquired a few more books as well, which were stacked nicely on the other bed now. Oh, she'd move them if she ever got another roommate, but the last thing she wanted was for her room to look incredibly empty now. After a quick note to Stephen letting him know when and where to meet her, Padma had made a complete list of spells that she knew from memory, including their incantations and what they actually did. If nothing else, she could exchange him knowledge today. |
