Visions in Paint
She'd been sitting outside at the park painting for the last couple of days. Not because it had been sunny, not because the weather had been nice, but because she couldn't focus in her studio. Pippa had needed the fresh air, the feeling of being out in the open, and, after yesterday, a false sense of... something. She'd gone hiking the day before and, for some unknown reason, the earth itself almost seemed as if it was beckoning her. She'd been unable to turn her attention away from it, finding herself reaching down to run her fingers through the dirt. She'd been hit with visions that she couldn't get out of her head. People she knew, people she cared about. Pippa had finished Mack's painting earlier this morning, having worked on it all night. For some reason, the name for the painting wasn't "Mack". On the back of the canvas, the urge that came for the title was "Terry". Where that came from, she was just as confused about as the look. This one... this one was Cerise, but it wasn't at the same time. Large green eyes, purple and pink hair... there was an heir of the mystical around her that Pippa wasn't certain she'd caught, but it was still... Exotic... The name that kept coming to her was "Clarice". She'd left them both voicemails telling them about how strange she'd felt the last few days and the two paintings that had come from it. If they wanted them, they could have them - no charge - because she didn't want to keep them. She didn't like feeling confused, feeling off. Pippa liked making sure everything was where it was supposed to be. This was definitely making her feel off-kilter. On top of that, her skin was feeling too tight... |
