"Not. Helping." Valkyrie remained quiet and brief.
She looked from cat to cat. What she needed was time. In the visor, the vitals of the cats made them glow orange. It confused the device that their hearts should beat so quickly. The stranger's vitals emitted blue. Valkyrie intended to keep it that way.
She dropped the bag from her shoulder and took a testing step forward toward the large cats. One of them growled. She swung her sword twice in a long horizontal arc. The cats nearly took a half step back but stopped. It appeared to be a standoff.
Valkyrie knew she could take out one. She would not be able to fend off a second. Apparently so did the cats, and for the time being neither appeared willing to go first.
"Do not run," Sam stated slowly and calmly. The last thing she needed was for the civilian to take off and get herself killed. "What I need is a distraction."
Valkyrie swung her sword again at the cats to prevent them from getting any ideas.
