The first real sign that we had that 2008 was going to be a better year was making a claim on my car and getting my windows fixed and having to pay out of pocket 5 dollars when we expected it to be upwards of 300.
Another sign, we finally heard word back from my brother in Iraq. It was more than a month since we heard from him. We also finally have all his paperwork together and in the computer so he can finally be promoted. This is his second tour of Iraq, he's been in for upwards of four years, and he's still a LCPL. When he gets back from Iraq, he will have a few months off then it back to the war since on this tour he volunteered to go with a different battalion and attached to them and when he gets back it will be his own battalion being called up.
Another sign, our court date got pushed back again. If we win our case, and if the lady actually pays us, we can finally get our roof fixed from the Hurricane five years ago. It would be nice to not have to worry about rain coming into the house, having enough buckets to catch the water, and not having to worry about mold growths.
Oh yeah... we still have that IRS thing. The lady who is suing us, ratted out my folks to the IRS.
If you live in the states and you want revenge, rat out a person to the IRS for cheating on their taxes. All you need is their name and city. The IRS went back twenty odd years on my mom to find ANYTHING to pin on her. Plus you get %5 on anything the IRS makes them pay. But, it looks like the IRS messed up, and might technically owe us money. It's part of the convoluted, annoying, confusing tax laws...so we have no real idea what's what.
