He quirked a half smile at her laugh. It was good that they could sort of pick up where they left off without any blame or pointing fingers about who was being an ass. He knew it was him, but did she really have to talk to other guys while he was around with such... familiarity?
"I... just thought you could eat. I was hungry, figured you might be, too." And maybe he'd wanted to see if she was home or out hanging out with that Billy guy. He watched her go to the fridge and grab the beer. He grinned. They had this routine, this comfortable relationship where he could count on her having beer if he brought food.
"Yeah, tell me about Zack. You had something to tell me about him? Something strange?" He wasn't sure what it was, but it seemed that when they talked over the network, she was confused or weirded out by something.
"Oh, you know, I'm good." He wasn't trying to avoid the question, necessarily, but he wasn't good with expressing his emotions. Especially if they made him appear weak at all.
