Ben could sense the tension in this guy's body. He just glanced at him and mentally didn't see him as much of a threat. It wasn't entirely clear what he was trying to get from Ben, but this was Ben's time to be right where he was. He wasn't ready to start gathering offerings for the Blue Lady just yet. Salem was new and he wanted to know everything about it before he resumed. He would.
"I like the design of this building. Sometimes I just stare at it for a long time before I go inside." Ben side eyed the guy again before he found his feet carrying him forward up the walk and to the stairs of the church. He set his hand on the railing and glanced up at the large protective wooden doors. They had to be strong because they protected the most precious thing there was.
"The Blue Lady." Ben stopped inside the church once they'd arrived in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary. This was the one thing that had kept Ben even somewhat together, without it he wasn't sure what would happen and who he would be.
"She's the way to the Good Place. I like to come here and sit." He turned to face this new person and he glanced him over quickly. He seemed fit and he seemed almost like law enforcement with his stance and questioning. "It makes me feel calm."
