"I'm fast, let's do this." All the physical training Izumi had put him through was just as priceless as the alchemy had been and he was grateful for it now more than ever. Going down in an explosion wasn't part of his plans and it was going to stay that way.
Ed ran as soon as she told him to go and only glanced back once to make sure Kira was going with him. When he saw her right behind him, Ed pumped his legs for all he was worth and took the stairs two at a time. Once he reached the top, he couldn't help but turn around to watch her set his bomb off. Ed's golden eyes widened as she expended an exorbitant amount of electricity. It was a light show he wouldn't soon forget but he didn't have the time to dwell on it because as soon as it touched the container, it went off just like he'd designed it to.
He ran right alongside Kira as they tried to escape the flames that were quickly consuming the church. Maybe he shouldn't have made the bomb so damn effective. Too late now. He stepped up to the window Kira smashed and with his right metal arm, Edward cleared the shards of glass clinging to the frame. There really was no point in running from a fire if they ended up bleeding out outside anyway.
"Go, I'll be right behind you!"
Ed gave Kira a nudge towards the window and as soon as she jumped out, he followed. He leaped over the frame and landed in a rolling crouch next to her. As soon as they were both on the cool grass of the lawn, the church went up in flames and exploded. Ed's arms instantly went up to block the hot debris from falling on his face as it rained down on them. His ears were ringing and all he could smell was the smoke coming from the church. He coughed as he shakily got up to his feet and looked around for Kira. He spotted her nearby and offered her his hand. "You alright?" The words left his mouth but he couldn't even hear himself as his ears continued to ring. Son of a bitch.
