"Yes," she nodded since she wasn't sure she had actually said the word out loud. Kira could tell that some great evil was near them. Sure, the dead bodies everywhere were a great clue, but that didn't mean the evil was still around. The fact she felt like she was about to puke her heart out was the real proof. She flashed Ed a tight smile when he bumped his shoulder to hers.
Right.
Time to focus. She tried her best not to look at the bodies as they moved farther into the Hell basement. If they made it out alive then she was going to take a thousand showers. She wasn't sure that she would ever feel clean again, but she wanted to get the blood off of her. Her running shoes were totally getting tossed out. There was no way she wanted to remember this carnage each time she went for a run. No thank you.
They slowed when they came to that large puddle. Oh God, no. Kira let sparks dance along her blade as she stared at the blood. There was so much of that blood. It couldn't be real! Except, she knew it was totally real. A hand came up and covered her mouth as she glanced around. The rumble caused her to shift her footing as she glanced at Ed. Before she could even answer him the ground shook so much harder. It was actually a miracle she stayed on her feet, but being a kitsune seemed to have some perks.
"I think...it is magic?" She pointed with the katana towards a door in the basement. "There," she sounded terrified and calm at the same time. Her eyes were starting to glow an orange color as she started to give into the fox. In this moment, surrounded by so much death, she knew she needed the inner kitsune's help. "We have to stop it. We need to destroy it before it destroys us."
There was no way in Hell she was going to die down here. She wasn't going to let Ed die either. No, they were both going to make it out alive even if she had to give in to her inner fox. She'd lose herself in the power she feared if it meant no one else died.
