Edward hoped it was just the vibe of a creepy empty church that was wrong and not actually something worth looking into. Knowing how Salem worked, however, he doubted it'd turn out to be nothing. Before he could put his guess to the test, a girl jogged over to him and Ed's focus shifted over to her. He didn't make a move against her but his hackles immediately went up when she accused him of being up to something.
He noticed that she said she sensed fear, he hadn't been able to put his finger on what was making his stomach turn but that seemed to fit the bill but it didn't make him any less annoyed. He arched his eyebrow and gave her a haughty look. "What did I do?" He tilted his head as if he was actually giving some thought to her ridiculous question. "Hmm, what did I do. I followed a vampire and his victim here. I staked him and kept him from making the girl you just saw leave his dinner. Then I stayed out here with her to make sure she left this place safe and sound. Now I'm dealing with you after saving someone's life and thus wasting my time. I think that about covers it."
Ed spun on his heel and headed back into the church. He'd never been given grief after dusting a vampire so that was new and he didn't like it but he put it out of mind. He was determined to either prove himself right or wrong about the church itself but he didn't get past a few rows of pews when he heard footsteps following him. He knew it was the girl from outside, not unless the vampire had a pissed off friend that just arrived but one turn of his head and yeah, it was the girl from outside.
"Are you planning on following me to make sure I'm not up to something now?" Ed knew he was being a little shit but he was always a little shit to people he didn't know. It was his default attitude unless he was dealing with someone he'd just saved. He actually was capable of empathy when he wanted to be.
He paused for her answer but that uneasy feeling he had suddenly grew in intensity. Ed's eyes narrowed as he took a look around the dark room and searching for god only knew what but aside from the two of them, there was nothing. "You felt that, right?"
