"How is it possible that we're the only people having a good time here. I mean, we can't be, right?" Elena wasn't so self-centered that she thought their lives were uniquely complicated. Far from it. Elena knew the truth. The supernatural was out there, real life monsters existed. Elena doubted that she and her friends were the only ones out there living in a constant state of being under attack from supernatural forces.
If they all went back home, they would be displaced again. Elena would be in her coma, not to wake up again until Bonnie died, preferably of old age. Though Elena believed that if anyone could figure out how to bring her back, it was her friends. They always found a way and she believed in them.
"I believe in you, Bonnie," Elena said. She reached out and took her friends hands. "If we get sent back home, I know you'll find a way to wake me up. I know it." She squeezed her hands, being careful not to apply too much pressure since Bonnie was human. "I believe in you."
Elena glanced past Bonnie and saw the karaoke host looking at them. He wasn't really Elena's type but she had to admit he was pretty cute. And she was sure that he was watching Bonnie and not her. Bonnie was drunk and not in her right mind so Elena wouldn't let anything happen but she thought it was a perfect time to send Bonnie to talk to some cute guy. It was just talking and Elena would be within earshot if anything went wrong.
"The karaoke guy is checking you out," Elena said in a sing-song voice. "He has a nice smile. You should go talk to him."
