	the good: Jace isn't fast enough to get out of the way. the bad: as soon as Akin throws him down, the illusion dissolves. someone's intimately familiar with Oankali senses, enough to make it convincing -- especially unbracered. the worse: a swarm of squidrats is now going straight for Akin's bracer. 	there sure are, and more that are scattering, their instincts enough to reinterpret their summoners instructions in ways that increase their survival odds. but some of them are definitely clustering on that megabracer, working on the pins. it's the biggest shiny, after all. 	another pair of images flick into existence; there are less squidrats now, but the ones that remain are the wiliest of the bunch, ducking and dodging and generally making a nuisance of themselves. and still the spell-threads come, weaving through the squidrats, focusing on the bracered arm.
