What: So remember how you guys offed the god of dreams and left the one who likes nightmares? Remember how she feeds on fear and there's end-of-the-world panic going on? About that.

[My goodness. There sure are some awful dreams floating around.]

((OOC- Nightmare mingle post! Haunted is messing with everyone's dreams, twisting them into nightmares. Anyone affected will be unable to wake, and teammates watching them sleep will note that they take physical damage during the dream- until, at the very end, the nightmare breaks and you wake up, completely healed and with your beds mysteriously covered in blood. Go crazy, guys. Troll your teammates. Shared dreaming is enabled if you want it, with as many people as you want it with. :|b))

((ETA- to clarify, we are not running nightmares, this is all mingle. Share your private terrors with your teammates and friends, GO GO. /o/))

[The room that you enter is dim, the furnishings covered with a thin layer of dust; it smells musty here, the scent of a place that has not been aired for a long, long time. Drifting faintly in the air, there is the sound of a music box playing, and along one wall there stands a princess bed in deep, purple velvet. Most notable, however, are the dolls. They stand on the dresser and on the floor; they lie on the bed; they sit on the table. Every available surface is overrun with them. They are china dolls, with pale, pretty faces, and baby dolls with bare heads and staring eyes, and miniature mimes with bright clothing. They are intricately painted marionettes, and voodoo dolls of rough cloth, and corn husk dolls bound with twine, and dozens more besides.]

[Atop the table there is a box; purple velvet drapes it, concealing what lies within. There is no other door besides the one from which you entered.]

[None of them are familiar, but all are vaguely unsettling.]

[No sooner have you glanced away, however, than a child's voice begins to speak- that of a little girl- just as a tiny marionette lowers itself from the top of the box onto the stage. Her segmented limbs are hideously pale, a shock of straight, sleek black hair trailing down her back. She wears a simple black dress, and her face has been painted minimally, with only black smudges to suggest eyes.]

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved stories.

[The marionette bows its head; she is holding a tiny book that was not immediately visible, and she begins to read.]

[Funny you should ask. She looks just like her, actually. :) For now the other dolls are still and unmoving, glassy eyes vacant.]

More than anything, she wanted to make her own, but the stories all belonged to her sister. The girl thought and thought, trying to find something else that she could do. "I will tell a different kind of story," she said. "I will tell stories about love."

[Two more marionettes lower from the ceiling- a man and a woman, both faceless. The man marionette raises his arms and embraces the woman, with all the stiff awkwardness of a badly controlled puppet.]

But the girl was not good at stories about love, and the people did not want them.

[The marionettes are yanked up again, out of sight behind the curtains at the top of the stage.]

[A green alien with three eyes lowers from the ceiling, and a a little planet on a popsicle stick rises from the floor- but the alien, too, is stiff and badly managed.]

But she could not tell those stories, either. They were not good stories, and the people did not want them.

[The alien and the planet are both taken away again.]
