[Out this far, it's not something that your eyes can tell anymore. There's no real difference between the consuming dark of curfew and the endless dark of a place where no light touches at all. But it's something you can feel. Something pulls back away from you and you can feel the metal under your feet, comforting and reminding you, somehow that yes, you do still exist past the bruises and dull ache of walking. There's a WORLD and it's not just you. You can hear water, the comforting sharpness of your own footfalls on rock.

More importantly.. the ground stills. No more of the gentle rocking, soft and firm sometimes, ground mushy and unpleasant others. Sometimes, it's nice to just pretend you've gone crazy.

Of course, when you finally see light, a soft, wispy green glow.. you might think that you really HAVE finally done it.]

[The walk is in a simple silence for some time before the man seems to squint and nod.]

Looks like we're almost there. A bit further than I expected to take you through. [He taps his chin with one bony finger.]

Next time you feel up to a bit of a chat, pour up a second drink of something good, and we'll talk a spell.

Once you got a bit better idea of youself, lets talk a bit about your own path.

[lifts his head a bit, having been lost in the motions of walking and the gnawing of his own mind.]

Ah.

[looks ahead, though there isn't much different to see yet.]

Yes... I do owe you a drink, don't I.

Aint like a bit of hospitality in kind.

[He tips his hat.]

Keep moving straight a pace, you'll see the torches next bend up ahead, son.

[And at that, the simple presence beside you is gone, and a more familiar darkness surrounds you.]
