When: Day 273, morning (probably going on until noon or afternoon)
What: We've had a wedding so now it's time for a funeral

[Link is now mixing some drinks, improvising from recipes that Messenger left from his last visit.]

Ah... I wanted to try the hot toddies but I'm not sure if it suits the occasion...

This is such a waste to burn these all up.

Good gracious, why would you burn it all? That WOULD be a waste.

[cutting slices of roast for everyone]

We'll just put aside a portion to burn as an offering before we eat.

[well, you could have the stuff straight from the bottle but Link wanted to make them fancy... (and less alcoholic)

Wrapping up the offering in paper and tying it off with twine, pouring a cup of wine... Ok that looks ready enough for burning... Fetching Gentleman's amulet thing from his room and bringing all of this with him to the kitchen, setting it near the hearth]

All right, I think we're ready... Shall we say some words about the departed Sabra La Tau...?

[Little tentacles fold into many prayer signs.]

A long overdue farewell! Though graceful and precocious in its youth, it grew into a great, thing, thriving and strong, clever and witty! And declined into an old man, struggling long past its day of passing, we here celebrate his return to the cycle as it was meant to be.

In its heart, it was pious and in its mind, it was strong, ever questing, and philanthropic when it once had an intellect.

We drink to what it has been, in hopes of what it will be again~

We ask for the Gentleman's presence today as we celebrate the coming and passing of Sabra La Tau.

Set it at a place on the table, put rum in a glass by it, and fill a plate with portions like you would for a teammate.

If he stops by, it'll be to take part as well.
