Agreed. I know there are a few other wildlife cards -- bearbees, at least, though they're not exactly a challenge -- and if we stick together, we can recover faster from the cards the black team has to execute personally. Maybe even discourage them, though the Judge would probably punish us for that.

I'd rather just take those with as little conflict as possible.

...that's probably a better idea.

Well, we have days to go.

And they'll probably be the worst.

I think between our teams, we have all the healers among the Blanks. Maybe we should spread the word tomorrow, if people get injured.

After we take care of ourselves, and we know they have the energy to handle both days. Lightning looked ragged after being near what happened to Monoceros.

Right. And if nothing else, there'll be more bodies to pass your materia around.

Mmm.

Is Lightning. . . is he okay? Do you know what that other form is?

...he's better today. We found out that the raptors make him less hungry -- a little less. Some of the Judge constructs, too. I'm not sure what that other form is, or why he has it, but...

The raptors? But I thought you guys had tried fish, and. . .

. . .When he was around all that blood, the chain that keeps his other form attached to him looked like it was ready to break.

We did. I really hope I'm wrong about why, but...

...did you know the raptors are sentient? Around as smart as we are, give or take.

Well, they're big enough assholes to be.

Yeah, but that's not the point. Fish, lizards, bearbees...they aren't.

Sentience? If. . . if another raptor hits one of us, if we let him have the final blow, I can watch to see if he needs to eat something other than meat.

That'll help. He got the final blow on ours, and ate most of it before Wish could take it away. He said he felt better afterward.

. . . There's no choice.

Shit, he's a really nice guy, too. Someone else stuck with something awful that's not even his nature.
