[...

Actually holds on a few extra seconds to be sure you're... actually done.]

Love, kindness, fellowship? Bullshit. They're trained responses to demand what you want and is over the moment accountability is lost. We're all simply animals with delusions of superiority.

You say you love humans? I really doubt it's anything more than the doting affection an owner might have for a pet.

Ah, there. He said it.

Yes, it's my belief. Just like how that last remark of yours is nothing more than an embittered opinion.

Just like whether or not you believe in God or an afterlife--which I don't, by the way. Even when surrounded by gods that don't allow their worshippers to remain dead. Studying humans is my religion, I suppose you could say. After all, even in a place like this, without the people, it would be an empty shell of a planet of caves.

But beyond that, you are right. Humans are animals. And that's why it's all the more fantastic that there are those who go against their baser animal instincts.

Such a thing doesn't exist.

[He snorts.] Enjoy what you like about it. I think it's a fucking farce.

And who said a farce is always such a negative thing?

--maa, but if it doesn't fit into your views and beliefs, there's really no point in pointing out that important part. It's a small thing, really. Practically insignificant.

You already have your own set of beliefs, so you wouldn't like it at all. No point in telling you something that you'll likely argue against anyway. And wouldn't it aggravate you less to not have to go through those extra steps?

Because you're right. These beliefs you're trying to bait me with are "practically insignificant" outside of simple curiosity.

And yet it's the most important thing. Why this, why that--what's the reason someone has for doing something--anything? You would say something along the lines of: "people only offer up excuses for themselves to make themselves feel better about the actions they've taken. Justification" and such. Which is why I said you wouldn't be interested.

But then, take the case with my sisters, since you're so fond of mentioning it...

Which by the way, I've mentioned only once. That speaks a bit of your sensitivity.

[Still, folds his arms and leans against the wall outside of his room, waiting.]

Well, I would have been more interested in using your case as an example, but that would be too insensitive.
