*the purple flame washes over the first of the images, and there's a flash of blue. when the dragon's breath clears, only a few are left, sheltered behind a wall of ice*

I'm okay. Bloody firebreathers...see if you can block its mouth.

*meanwhile, Jace is taking a more direct approach, as his images scatter once again; the ice of the barrier explodes outward, transforming into razor-sharp shards that seem to multiply as they home in on Steelix*

	you know what sucks about flying debris? it's not fooled by illusions. which is to say, off to the side, a chunk of rock deflects slightly and Jace reappears, teeth clenched. Reflexively, he reaches out with his telepathy.....and finds something he didn't expect (Reply to this) (Parent)

	the tendrils, their purpose served, dissolve. in unison, Jace's remaining images all speak a single word in no known language, with the sound of cracking ice. 	not if I can help it, you're not. Jace reaches out to Steelix's mind again, forcing himself past its natural resistance; he doesn't need to do damage this time.
