Entry tags:!days 090-099, sakura, tsurusawa jin, {chaz villette}, {kokuto mikiya}, {{{isawa hako}}}, {{{james t. kirk}}}, {{{seta soujirou}}}

Who: Jin, anyone.
Where: The common area nearest Monoceros/Orion
When: Day 91 late afternoon/evening
What: New guy in white.

[While people were out doing daily things, such as trying to scrape together enough food for the team, someone new woke up in Monoceros. Now he's sneaking through the common area outside, moving quietly as he can. Someone should probably break it to him that white hair, pasty white skin, and white clothes don't really lend to stealth except for in a snowstorm. Or just be nice and tell the new teammate that there's not really anywhere to sneak off to. Whatever.]

[nods] You disparaged my team's competence earlier. I was hoping that my initial impression was false, but . . . are they that bad?

[looks interested at the mention of the library] That sounds promising. I'll need to investigate it at some point.

[Actually thinks about this.]

You have one member who is a competent fighter and one member whose friend claims she will be able to use magic when she regains her memories- Almaz and Sakura, respectively. Nibs seems reasonable, Badger much less so. Ushahin stays to himself, mostly. I've only spoken a few words to him, and that was when I first woke up.

That aside, mostly I was referring to their utter inability to warn new members about anything important.

[Gestures to the dorms they're passing now.]

Cepheus and Lepus. Dark purple and brown.

It's true that it's your team who has informed me of everything important. Chaz and Carly informed me of the rules and explained the current Game. [sigh] I should be grateful to have a partner team.

[. . . observing the dorm-on-dorm action here] Is Lepus a larger team than average? They appear to have built an addition.

If you haven't heard about the judges yet, we should cover them, as well.

...I don't believe they built it, actually. There's a small green person living inside. He wears a uniform that's multiple colors.

Only the word.

Multiple colors? Is that a team, or is he something else?

If it's a team, it's none I know. Though I suppose it's possible a new one has been started. Delphinus and Pavo were created late, as well.

...he's the only one I've seen in those colors, though.

If so, rainbow seems like a strange choice. There are still other colors that haven't been used, aren't there?

Mm. Who's to say how they made the color choices, though?

Considering that I know nothing of the Judges, certainly not me.

...the Judges, then. They're the ones that control this place. They're very powerful, run the games, and give back our memories. They're also sadistic, snooping liars who hurt us and kill us because they can.

[Gestures.]

And that's the river. It's moving water, basically. We'll head down to the lake in a little while, and you can get a closer look there.

So the challenge is not only to win back memories, but also to survive? Life truly isn't fair.

An entire lake? This place really is huge.

Fair has very little to do with this place.

...although yes, it is fairly big. There's a waterfall, as well.

I'm not surprised.

Is there a purpose to the lake?

Fish live in it. They can be caught for food.

Would you like to hear about the individual judges?

[nods, making mental note of the fish.]

Please. I was told that some games are more dangerous than others. Is this because of the difference in Judges?

Some games are more dangerous than others, but don't make the mistake of thinking that the judges who run less dangerous games can be trusted. They may not do anything direct, but even the ones with reputations as being "nice" look the other way while people are killed, or spy on us, or turn us over to their less scrupulous companions without a hint of regret.

I'll keep that in mind. Who are the ones to watch out for particularly?

Surgeon, Trickster, and King. ...and this new one. They cause the most physical damage, and their games try to create infighting between the teams. Surgeon implements a penalty for losing his games.

Mirror and Persona are less directly dangerous, but invasive.
