The one explanation is sort of tied up in the other; we're here to play in the Games and survive. We eat what we can catch and cook, trade between ourselves, and make do as best we can. Anything specific you were wondering?

Ah... the name of the place, and of all the other units; the names and natures of the Judges, and the Games they run... And where I might find better clothing?

The place is the South Block of Sabra La Tau. Clothing, I'm afraid, you're stuck with unless one of the Judges' enforcers gives you a mission in exchange for something; they're a team called Ophiuchus, and they carry out the Judges' will and enforce their laws instead of playing games.

As for units and Judges...you might want to sit down, this may take a while.

[Sits! Automatically arranging herself demurely, like a lady in miniature.]

We'll start with the Judges. There are....twenty-seven or so that have revealed themselves and are known to run games, and occasionally new ones show up. So far we've seen...King, Queen, Messenger, Angel, Waterbearer, Veiled, Dude, Foreman, Beauty, Clockmaker, Game Master, Horn, Huntress, Lover, Librarian, Mirror, Storyteller, Shadow, Persona, Kid, Soldier, Twins, Huntress, Graces, Persona, Haunted, and Flowers. Generally, their name gives a clue to their nature -- Flowers is a major exception, though, she's much more dangerous than her name suggests. The ones that tend to be dangerous are Game Master, Flowers, Huntress, Persona, Haunted, Horn and Lover when combined, Mirror and occasionally Storyteller.

... 'Dude'? And 'Horn'?

Horn is easier to explain; it takes the form of a horned rabbit. It's easily distracted, loves rumor and gossip, and tends not to focus on anything for too long; its games tend to be attempts to cause ill-feeling with rumors.

Dude...I'm honestly not sure what the name means, but he's associated with fire and prefers games that are laid back and relaxed.

[Doesn't seem to be having any trouble at all taking this in. She nods slightly, expression thoughtful.]

And the other units?

Seven other partner pairs besides us, plus Ophiuchus, the Judges' servants and enforcers, who don't play in games. I can give you my impressions of each one, but it's important to remember that teams are made up of individuals, and I don't know everyone on all of them.

All the same, I'd appreciate it.

*nods, and because the player is too lazy to type it out twice, summarizes this. As he mentions each team name, their colors flick into existence in front of him, forming a list of partner pairs.*

It's been surprisingly useful. People sometimes underestimate what illusion can do, but...
