I think ... it's the role of the strong to protect the weak. That's how it works in teams, doesn't it? The physically strong do the demanding tasks so that the physically weak don't have to. The mentally strong help their teams to win games with their intellect, or by coming up with more convenient ways to do things.

If the world worked like that ... the weak would be able to nurse their own strengths until they didn't need protecting, and could protect someone else now weaker than them in turn, too.
