[Scattered around the roof of Hydra are several crude tools made of bone, leather and stone and a few papers with rather technical designs on it. Claude's handiwork, for any staring at them, might be recognizable and lays largely untouched, however, in the margins, on the back, on several adjoining sheets are designs on implementing THOSE plans. Equations, materials, notes on experiments and results... all scattered throughout the pages in several handwritings and more than one language.

This obviously hasn't been an overnight project, nor anywhere near completed either...

However, what may have grabbed your attention is the groan of wood as they crank back the catapult for another test.]

... That might be the limit.. adjust the tension or just wait until we can really mess with the angle?

[And he actually kicks off the catapult at the apex of its arc.

The combined force and twisting to pull his arms in carefully for the first few seconds get a speed and angle that takes almost all of the curve out of his path in favor of pure, amazing speed.

With a lower arc, there isn't as much of a risk of unfortunate, messy collisions with stalactites, but as his path reaches its peak, he twists in midair, a graceful catch of the air that has him seem to float for a moment at that point before starting to drop.

The speed is still there, but each move isn't just showy, but seems to be creating a drag in the air.

Still the landing is almost explosive, digging a trench almost knee deep on the shark before he jumps out of it. It's another few hops, one over the surface of the shallow water before onto the nearby bank, before finally able to take it to a turning stop.]
