I wanted to ask you about something, if it's alright.

I wanted to know if you already know how to use thyme.

For tea, right? And meat.

No, not just flavour. It can be used for medicine as well.

Oh-- then I don't know that.

My mother kept an herb garden, but the only ones I've found so far are thyme and mint.

It's really good for sore throats and... ah, I don't know the proper name... breathing illnesses? Sickness that causes coughs and things like that. So if someone becomes sick again, it would help to give them thyme tea.

It also can be used to help prevent infection, though there is already that other plant here that does that.

. . .That sounds really useful.

You remember your mother, huh?

You were the one who taught me about the plants here in the first place. It's only right that I tell you if I learn anything new.

I don't remember her, but I know it was her garden. I remembered my father, but it's a little faded. It was some time ago.

Aah... thanks. I'll remember it.

A mother with a garden, huh . . .

But my father did all of the cooking. He was amazing, like Watanuki... he was teaching me all kinds of things like that so I would be able to survive on my own.

No, not really. I probably won't. I went to another world seven years ago and I never saw them again, I don't think.

The first time was seven days before my seventh birthday. I went to Clow -- Sakura's world -- and lived there for seven years. Travelling from world to world came after that.

My mother was a dreamseer -- she saw the future in her dreams. She said that there was someone waiting for me in that world, and my father asked if I would go.

I can't imagine that kind of thing being in a totally different world. What if you never found out?

Watanuki may remember Yuuko-san talking about it. It's a concept of fate. You will meet the people who you were meant to meet. Certain things will come to pass. However, every person has their own choices to make, and those choices will determine the future. Therefore, the future is as yet undetermined.

So when my mother dreams of the future, it is only a possible future. I could have chosen to stay in the world in which I was born. However, I chose the future that she saw, instead.
