	reacts to the feint, and whether or not he realized what it was in time is a moot point, since either way he's not spotting the attack suddenly coming from his blind side in time to stop it. A nice new slash appears in the top of his uniform, edges quickly beginning to redden, and he follows up with another slash of his own as though he hasn't even noticed (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	the first strike scores a nice cut across the arm, then he pushes back to match blow for blow- his technique is still lacking refinement, but sheer determination helps make up the difference. none the less, the occasional strike gets through for a nick here and a cut there, but this seems only to spur him on (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	[grins and just strikes harder as Masamune's blade cuts his face and arms and body, and fighting as hard as he can with the bracer is kind of exciting, like it's a guarantee it's a completely even battle. [--And he's not quite fast enough to counter-break when he was already in break position. Masamune's sword goes right through River's shoulder and out his back. His own sword didn't get up enough to stop it, but he DID get it between them, pressed against Masamune's chest lengthwise. He bares his teeth, and instead of pulling back, drags his blade down and across as fast as he can]

	grins fiercely as his strike goes home, but that only lasts a moment before the blade of River's sword rips down the length of his torso. He reflexively yanks his own sword back and free as he takes a staggering step or two backwards from the blow (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
