It was well after sundown when Meg finally left her room, chased out by a gnawing in her stomach she couldn't ignore reminding her she had eaten since the day before. Stepping out of her room into the deserted courtyard, stocks now standing empty, she made her way to the kitchen and for the first time that day was aware of how cold the ground beneath her feet was. She didn't go back for her boots or a pair of socks however, instead just picking up her pace a little though the floor in the kitchen wasn't much warmer. Not caring especially what she ate, more concerned with getting rid of the ache in her stomach, she grabbed the first tub of leftovers she could find and, not bothering to heat them through or even use cutlery, tucked into it.
No doubt there was bound to be someone who would be appalled by her lack of anything resembling manners in that moment but Meg didn't care and would have had a number of short expletives for anyone who might have showed up and commented on it but thankfully she was able to finish her food undisturbed, the now empty tub abandoned in the sink where she gave her hands a cursory rinse under the faucet before leaving. Walking past the cafeteria, she couldn't help noticing some of the packages she had seen when passing through there earlier were still there and stepped inside to take a closer look. To her surprise, there was a significantly large one for herself as well as two smaller ones and while her feelings towards the administration were less than positive, it didn't stop her from opening them. Really she shouldn't have been surprised by the new computer given their obligation to keep a journal but she was though the note that accompanied it did little to improve her mood and for a moment she was tempted to flip the box there and then, send their precious computer to the floor just like the last one. She didn't however, though whether that was the result of exhaustion or actual forethought it couldn't be said, and taking it and the new clothes, headed back to her room.
Struggling to get the door unlocked with the heavy box, she was forced to set it down and it was then she noticed a light on in the room next to hers. Room 13. Dom's room. For a brief moment her heart surged with hope only to be dashed as a figure passed by the window and even through the small gap in the curtains, Meg could see it wasn't Dominic. Battling a wave of nausea as her eyes began to prick with yet more tears, she just managed to make it back into her room, slamming the door shut behind her before dashing to the bathroom where she threw up, the dinner she had gone to the effort of finding gone as quickly as she'd eaten it.
