Sometimes the world you create on the page seems more friendly and alive than the world you actually live in.
Since the dawn of time, storytellers have enchanted audiences with their words. But there is an even rarer gift. There are those who, by reading out loud, can bring characters to life. Out of books and into our world. Most of these people prefer to keep their skills a secret but some do not even know this gift is theirs, until it is too late.
You know how your story begins, do you know how it ends?
Have you ever invested weeks, months, or perhaps years into character development only for a game to suddenly lose interest? For things to go awry and you choose to part ways? Are you sitting in a game that you've lost interest in simply because you don't wish to lose all that character development?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then Spinning Compass is for you!
We at Spinning Compass allow character development from any game. From Insane Journal? Approved! From Live Journal? Approved! From Dreamwidth? Approved! It doesn't matter what journal format they come from, your character will be approved!
We also accept Original Characters, and any canon fandom characters.
Character approval pending application acceptability.
Books are adventure! They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them.

it started as a grand experiment in the entertainment game. as its popularity increased, the franchise expanded. the arenas became grander and more diverse. the fighters were given their own self-functioning city, located on a floating island. and as long as they abide by the rules and fight when they're told to, life can be quite good.
you have been brought to fight for their entertainment. they are simply known as the aliens although they have only ever appeared to their captives in human forms. very little is known about them except this: they are very powerful and they do not like to be bored.

Welcome to Elmwood State Hospital |
Outside the mutliverse sits a state of the art mental hospital, a place for so called fictional characters to go when their own world seems to be closing in on them. There's a place for everyone here, all you have to do is accept your place.
Some will be enlisted as doctors, even if they are not medically trained or certified. None of that matters here. If there is a need, the hospital will qualify the called...
Some will be taken in as patients. Their diagnosis will as varied as the people who are pulled in. (Note: The players have free reign here. You choose your character, you can saddle him or her with any diagnosis you wish, either canon based or not. Go nuts! The game is made for crack, have fun with this!)
We have been open and active for over six months. We are currently restructuring and we would love to have some fresh blood. All characters and fandoms welcome (human PBs are required). See you there!

We are/were a Glee group that is set in the Harry Potter world but with our OCs (original characters) we have opened up to other fandoms like Supernatural and Teen Wolf. We still have a lot of great Glee canon characters open but we are also open to OCs as well: we have Dean and Sam from Supernatural, Stiles, Derek, Isaac from Teen Wolf. Some of their personalities and lifestyles have changed (like no werewolves and hunters) but they are basically the same character from the show.
We are hoping to get the following characters: RACHEL BERRY, QUINN FABRAY, JESSE ST. JAMES, FINN HUDSON, BRODY WESTON, SCOTT MCCALL but we are open to original characters as well!
We are a fairly active group that is open minded, friendly, and we have a lot of fun playing with each other.
The group is paragraph form/journal based on Insanejournal (the mods are open to helping new players with the system). If you are interested please check us out.
