Premise Evangeline Henry is your typical American teenager, who seems to have it all. She has two loving parents, great friends, and only a year left of high school. She's lived in the tiny town of Smithfield Island, Maine for all 18 years of her life, and when she graduates, the world will be her oyster.
Except for the fact that it's all fake. For 18 years, Evangeline has been the unknowing star of a 24-hour-a-day reality show broadcast around the world and watched by millions of viewers. Her family and friends are all actors, and Smithfield Island is equipped with thousands of hidden cameras and microphones. Everything is carefully crafted to create an idyllic environment for Evangeline and the best show for all of her fans.
But not everybody is a fan. For every viewer who loves the show with a passion, there's one who believes that it's a cruel form of slavery and manipulation that needs to be stopped immediately. The next year is critical for both sides. With Evie about to graduate high school and wanting to venture out into the world, and the main actors' contracts expiring, tension is building- on the set and off- and the 18th season of Evangeline will change everything. | |

It was supposed to be a Golden Age. An Age of Heroes, of people who were meant for great things, meant to save the world, destined to make the world better.
Maybe it happened too fast. To go from no heroes to thousands, seemingly overnight, people aren't equipped to handle things like that. Or maybe it was the shock of discovering the mutant species, where your next door neighbor might be reading your mind right now. Or maybe there were shadowy figures behind the scenes, ones who didn't appreciate the safety of the United States and the world at large being completely in the hands of freaks, people who were barely even human.
Paranoia, distrust, fear, it started running rampant, fueled by propaganda and hate, and only made worse when a mutant lost control and millions died. Suddenly, registering mutants was the only solutions, but why stop there? Anyone with superpowers could be dangerous, and it was a slippery slope then. Anyone with superpowers, anyone wanting to be a hero or a villain, was suddenly a criminal. All it took was one final push, a whisper in Congressional backrooms.
"What if we just killed them all?" Ridiculous. At first. But humanity hates what it fears, and fears what it doesn't understand. The call to arms was given on Christmas Day, 2011.
Nick Fury is gone. Tony Stark is disgraced. New York City is in flames. Mutant children are burned alive in their beds. Norman Osborne is creating Capekillers, robots who can detect the things that make anyone with powers different.
The Heroic Age has ended in blood and fire.
All that's left is to sift through the ashes.
