As 2005 draws to a close, the Wizarding World's in danger of finding out first-hand what the consequences of that might be. It's getting harder every day for the Ministry to protect its citizens from exposure and the old tried-and-true methods haven't kept pace with muggle advancements. Without hard work, sacrifice and maybe a miracle or two, life as everybody knows it is doomed to change forever and they're running out of time to stop it.   There are those who don't believe revealing magic to muggles would be such a terrible thing, however. Among them is a shadowy new group whose methods are unknown but whose motives have recently become clear. They want the Statute of Secrecy overturned, regardless of the consequences, and they aren't willing to wait forever. They've already started taking steps to force the Ministry's hand and although they seem unwilling to break the masquerade themselves, nobody knows if or when that might change.   If you're not with them, you're against them - an "enemy of wizard-kind" whose name has been posted on a list of others like you. It's a list that's growing smaller as threats are made, blood is spilled and names are crossed off once and for all. You are Dragon and looked down upon as filthy, scavenging lizard hybrids. Or you are Mystic and feared because you posses powers no one really understands. Whatever your race, you live in your own shire with your own kind unless you like sleeping with a dagger in your hands or you're incredibly foolish. Sure, there has been the semblance of tolerance among the three races but it is held together by a very tenuous thread. The Peacekeeper is the only man alive to be both Dragon and Mystic, born from Human parents. As long as he lives the lands will live alongside one another in harmony. In the middle of the three townships is Redgrave Castle. While it has been generations since a true king has ruled over Abenforth there has always been a steward who was fair and kind. Until recently. When the previous man died of a mysterious illness and this new man, a Human who called himself Dervil, took his place there spread rumors far and wide of his corruption. Slowly the castle was filling with courtiers of all races and temperaments. Dervil's men, his knights, his lords and ladies all of questionable character. Many fear for the Peacekeeper who is kept inside the castle "for his own safety" and know that if he is lost a true war will begin until another Peacekeeper is found. Dr. Mindbender works with Cobra Commander using his nanites to ensure world domination. The Baroness' brother was killed and caused her journey to the Cobra Commander. For now, at least, the presidency is still safe. the team known only as GI Joe has two new members and is in a constant battle to stop Cobra Commander and his army from taking over the world. So this is the world we live in and not everyone knows how dangerous it is. How close they are to losing all they know to a new force. It's time to take a stand, pick a side, before it picks you. Angered by the disrespect the human race has paid them, the Olympian gods devised a plan: go down to earth, as they were wont to do, and stir things up. After all, hadn't they done that so many times before, interacting with the mortal men of their creation to satisfy a bit of boredom? They needed to be taught a lesson. Except for one thing: without the power of belief and faith behind them, the gods found their powers a bit... lacking. Rather than ending up on earth as the all-powerful beings who brought mortals trembling to the ground, they ended up as... mortals. Mortals who just so happened to be reincarnated mythological figures. Mortals who just so happened to be reincarnated mythological figures in New York. As their memories come through, will it disrupt the lifetime of personality they have set up for themselves? How will it affect their relationships? And will they ever be able to exact their revenge? Liquid Snake has returned from the Afterlife bigger and badder than ever with a new Machine to wreck havoc. Having reunited with Ocelot, they have managed to get hold of the Tardis from one of the Time Lords, Ten --and blackmailed him into surrendering it -- now Liquid has a toy that he uses to randomly bring in people from all over the world--- all over the universe really-- and Life and Death are no obstacle. Once he managed to unlock the secrets of the Tardis, Liquid rigged a way to remotely control its capabilities. Sometimes for amusement, sometimes for malicious reasons, Liquid can bring in someone from anywhere, can literally raise the dead, because he can simply pluck them from a time before they lost their physical form. He is not sane, far from it, and this only adds to the danger and threat to the world. Shadow Moses Island is now a huge settlement with many people living around it, a massive Fortress that is watched over by Liquid, Ocelot, Loki, Vergil Sparda, many of the original SM crew. Fort Freedom is the seat of the Resistance, and Liquid allows them to exist only because it amuses him-- that amusement could end at any time, and for any reason. They are located in the Rockies, in a fortified Citadel well guarded, and among the personages there are Big Boss and the Boss, who are the Leaders. From time to time Liquid sends attacks of various sorts against them, and they have so far survived. Don't Tread On Me - the DTOM -- they are the remanants of the USA govenment, with Patriot and Philosopher holdouts and supporters among them. They strongly desire the deaths of Liquid and Ocelot, and have already sentenced them to death by hanging in absentia. They have no love for Fort Freedom either, seeing them as radicals. If you get pulled in here be aware that the cities are now all GEAR/GEKKO bases, and up and down the coasts there are rows of massive super-nukes, the Cronos and the Titan, and modified Minutemen. Life goes on, life always goes on, and there are drugs, whores, black markets, crying babies and housewifely drudgery in this world, just as there was before Liquid unlocked his terrible secret. You might land anywhere, and your fate might be kind or cruel, depending on the whims of a mad God. There's no rhyme or reason to things now: The TARDIS has begun to malfunction, upset by Liquid's toying with it, and although it's still under Liquid's control, it has started to pull people randomly, without the need of Liquid's express orders. Back to the mortal, leaving the soft and easy peace of the Afterlife regions. Perhaps you didn't want to come back, to incarnate. Too bad, because everyone must be recycled. Everyone must return. Otherwise, there will be no human race at all, because there's one flaw in all this, one mistake the Elders made, before they decreed themselves Obsolete and succumbed to the Return as well.
