"Professor Snape...? Are you there?"
"... Oh? I have always found Professor Snape to be rather attractive." She ignored the silence, the stares, and focused her attention on the oblivious professor at the far end of the room.
The Dark Lord is back. Harry's 5th year of Hogwarts is marked by the return of the man who had destroyed his family and seeks now to destroy him and all else that he loves. Time is pressing on and in the face of all else, there is the need for a plan. For something to really happen.
For all of his stoic demeanor and disinterest in the menial lives of his students, Severus found it very hard to ignore one student in particular. It could have been that she was intelligent, which she was, but beyond that he just couldn't help but notice how very much like himself she seemed to be. Her life at Hogwarts mirrored his in so many ways and the part of him that fought so hard to push back the memories that haunted him, memories of his own childhood torment and turbulent relationships, began to crack.
... Of course, Dumbledore's meddling didn't help.
She was useful - very useful. If she proved to be strong enough then she could take up the mission with Severus, the mission to stand in Voldemort's way, to protect the castle in Dumbledore's absence. The old man knew that he had little time left, that he had to give up his metaphorical throne. The man trusted Severus with his life (in quite a literal way) but he could not help but wonder if a little assistance would go a long way for Severus, if the two, partnered up, wouldn't both benefit from it. If they had one another, the mission could thrive.
"There is no need to explain it further - I quite understand. My peers will hate me, they will think that I am a monster. They will shun me, throw insults at me. I am expected not only to tolerate it, but to encourage it. In the eyes of the Dark Lord I will be one of his greatest followers, at the expense of my life in society," her brow furrowed, folding her hands on her lap neatly and ignoring Severus' eyes, focusing only on the headmaster's, "It just seems to me, Professor Dumbledore... that what you expect of me is not so different from how my life already is."
What I seek: Professor Severus Tobius Snape
Expectations: Professor Snape, being a canon character, needn't be played to a T - that would be stressful. To capture the essence of his character is all that is necessary as, for the sake of the game, so much of the other canon will need to be stretched as well. It is meant to be fun!
Details: It is an Alternate Universe set around the time of the 5th book, so Umbridge will definitely be involved.
The game is meant to be an exploration of what would happen if Snape was to meet someone like himself. I imagine they could become companions. Whether they could eventually become something more is questionable. I like to play things out and see where things lead - I imagine two people such as themselves would eventually grow to like one another's company. It can be very... lonely to be like Severus.
