As the new millennium dawns, Wizarding England is a bleak place. A failing economy and skyrocketing unemployment has most of the citizens living hand-to-mouth, strict laws seperate the muggleborns from the rest of society, and harsh punishments are visited on anyone who steps out of line. Violence and riots spring up, only to be met with force from the Ministry. The Ministry keeps its people under control by fostering a fear of muggles, leading the population to believe that muggles are one step away from discovering them, and that they would all be rounded up and killed if that happened.
Unknown to most of the country, Voldemort and his Knights of Walpurgis run the government, ordering everything to suit their own ends. Though the population believes Voldemort to be dead (twice), he dictates everything, patient in his immortality and confident that his hiding is only temporary. At every turn, the Order tries to thwart them, but the Knights rarely use brute force anymore. The subtle weapons of propaganda and policy prove to be a deadly force, but the Order isn't beaten yet. They know Voldemort's weakness: the horcruxes. But they have to work fast. Because Voldemort has a new plan... |

PAX LETALE:
GODS REAWAKENED
Something is stirring in Newport Beach, California.
One of the most affluent and exclusive areas in Orange County, Newport Beach is a safe, comfortable space where the real world has a tendency not to to intrude on the pleasures of its citizens. It's a nice, normal, friendly, monochromatic city in a county that's known for the same. In fact, many people say that the majority of Orange County seems like a construct designed to keep the troubles of real life out, creating a plasticine paradise that nothing dark or dirty can penetrate.
The residents of Pax Letale are slowing coming to know better.
Pax Letale is an exclusive luxury apartment building right on the beach, with easy access to the 405 and all the charm that Newport Beach has to offer. Its residents comprise a surprisingly eclectic demographic for Orange County and Newport in particular, with people from all walks of life being drawn to this building for reasons they can't quite identify.
The common thread that binds them, of course, is that they are each of them inhabited by a sleeping god.
As they spend more time at Pax, their gods are awakening, though -- and strange things are happening. Natural (and supernatural) mishaps and disasters, disappearing tenants, and quite recently, the concierge was brutally murdered.
There are whispers among some that the strange island in the bay, visible from the building, has something to do with all of this. Still others are compelled by the island; if it didn't sound crazy, they'd say it was calling to them.
They aren't crazy.

 The year is 1957. The government has just mandated country-wide integration at all schools - which the President is enforcing with military troops. In Lima, Ohio, this means that Asian, Latino, and Black students at the Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Lima Heights are being integrated into previously-White William McKinley High School, a project that is jointly led by Spanish teacher Ms. Holly Holliday and principal Mr. William Schuester. Tensions are running high, to the point where some parents are contemplating enrolling their white sons in the private all-boys school, Dalton Academy, which thus far is successfully avoiding integration.
The McKinley glee club, run by Ms. April Rhodes, serves as a safe haven at the school. However, not every familiar Glee character will choose to be in the club, for many will be put off by the teacher’s reputation as a loose woman. Other familiar faces include Ms. Shannon Beiste, health and physical education teacher, Mr. Ken Tanaka, football coach, Ms. Emma Pillsbury, school guidance counselor, Mrs. Terri Schuester, nurse, and Sue Sylvester, esq., head of the school’s nationally-ranked cheerleading program.
Jukebox Glee will be an AU game, with all student characters from the show available for play. Adults will be NPCs and original characters are welcome. In order to maintain appropriate and safe conduct, explicit roleplaying of extreme situations of prejudice, stereotyping, or hate-related crimes will not be tolerated in the main community, in the OOC community, or in personal character journals.
