[15 Sep 2010|01:10pm] SEMPER IMMORTALIS PREMISE | CHARACTERS | TAKEN | RULES Aberforth, in a fit of pique with his brother, never caught Severus eavesdropping and so Severus was able to hear the complete prophecy. Armed with this information the Dark Lord never attacked the Potters and Harry was never marked as the Chosen One. The Death Eaters, with Voldemort at their head, forced a confrontation with the Order of the Phoenix. In an attempt to stop the fighting Dumbledore challenged the Dark Lord to a duel and lost. Now the Death Eaters are fully in charge of the Ministry, with Lucius Malfoy as the Minister. The Order of the Phoenix has been shattered and it's members are either captured or in hiding. The Wizarding world has been reformed along feudal lines, and the Muggle government has been infiltrated so that all of the U.K. is controlled by Voldemort. Purebloods and Full-Bloods are now considered the nobility and upper class. They hold all the positions of power and responsibility. Half-Bloods are considered middle class, though it's possible for them to marry upwards. Muggle borns are sterilised when they are found and taken as slaves of the state. Hogwarts continues as it was but is now under the guidance of Severus Snape, with several other Death Eaters on the faculty. Those teachers that didn't fight against the Dark Lord are still welcome to continue at their current posts. Half-Blood children are limited to five years of study and graduate after gaining their OWLs. Only Full and Pure-blooded children can take NEWTs. The English government has declared martial law over 'increasing terrorist attacks' and travel to and from the islands is restricted. Voldemort and his followers want to consolidate their hold on the U.K. so they have a firm base of power before they try to expand across Europe. Game opens August 31, 2010. Characters from the simplest fables to the most complex works of fiction known to mankind have all been written to convey a message, teach a lesson, stir emotion. But what would happen if a character from story A suddenly had to interact with someone from story B? athenaeum is a game centered around the lives of the unusual residents of Powell, Washington. In short, every person who lives in Powell is based off of a literary character. While other games with this theme might deal with magic, reincarnation, powers or crossing over of literary characters from their world to ours, the residents of Powell are ordinary people who simply share the same traits and histories as characters throughout the world of fiction. The Colony [15 Sep 2010|05:43pm] It is the year 2011, one year after the apocalypse. It all started with a batch of tainted influenza vaccines. Come autumn or winter of the year 2010, when everyone was going out to be inoculated against the seasonal flu and Swine Flu they were unknowingly infecting themselves with a mutated and deadly form of the virus. After merely days after their first exposure, the infected began exhibiting strange behavior. Along with nasty bodily aches, vomiting, and other typical symptoms of ordinary influenza, the infected became hostile to anyone that might pass their way. They certainly didn’t make a conscious decision to spread the mutated virus, but by way of scratching and biting they sped up the demise of the human race a great deal. The world descended into chaos. As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. All people wanted was to contain the disease and eventually find a cure, but all they succeeded in doing was forming angry mobs. There were so many unnecessary deaths and not exclusively from the mutated flu. World governments ceased to function and the population thinned out to an extreme degree. The one blessing was that the mutated flu was a blood-borne pathogen. It is not carried through vectors like mosquitos or other insects nor is it airborne. With enough caution, one could escape infection. With enough determination some people might survive. Marvel/DC Multiverse on LJ [15 Sep 2010|06:37pm] The last time the ultimate beings known as The Brothers became aware of each other, they collided in a conflict that nearly destroyed their two multiverses. Then, for a time, they became one. When they did so, they combined not only themselves, but the many inhabitants of those multiverses. This created what would from then on be referred to as the "Amalgam" universe, and gave rise to such heroes as Dark Claw, Iron Lantern, and Amazon. It also became the home of villains such as the Green Skull, Catsai, and Dare. But their world existed only briefly, and through the work of two cosmic beings and a man called Access they were once more separated. The time of separation was years for the multiverses, however to the Brothers, it was surprisingly brief. Then, as if urged by the irresistible hand of fate, the Brothers came together again. This time though, it was different. They came not with anger, but with peace. Armed with the lessons they had learned from their last attempt the Brothers chose to allow their creations to decide for themselves, subconsciously and instantaneously, to continue living separately, or return to their lost lives from the forgotten Amalgam Universe. Game Overview The MDC world consists of characters from Marvel, DC, and Amalgam universes. We've got tons of characters available!
