the colony: a post-apocalyptic rpg [10 Jul 2010|12:00am]

In 2009, the world experienced a global outbreak of a new strain of influenza A/virus subtype H1N1, referred to as novel H1N1 and first identified in April. It was commonly known as swine flu in North America and Mexican Flu in Europe. Deaths were reported worldwide, and concern that the virus would progress and become worse escalated as the death toll rose.

In November 2009, the Netherlands developed the first medicinal treatment for victims of the virus. When it appeared to cure the symptoms, mass production of the drug was ordered just in time for distribution for the seasonal flu season. Within weeks of deployment, reports of returned symptoms hit the media.

People fled in mass exodus from the cities in an attempt to escape its reach, either to government-run evacuation sites or places of their own choosing, but by then it was too late. Instead of treating the virus, the drug attacked the body, allowing the virus to adapt and become a new strain of supervirus not even the original vaccine could prevent. It spread worldwide in a matter of days, with no amount of damage control stopping it. Only one in five hundred survived.

By April 2010, one year after H1N1's first reported case and a mere five months after the medicine was distributed, the world went silent. With the power grid shut down, there was no way to know for certain who was alive. Those who naturally immune to the virus who survived suffered famine, further disease, and the violent tendencies of others out for themselves. There was one bright spot in the west, though: Las Vegas. There a group of survivors found each other and started to rebuild their world.

But then the lights go out. At the mercy of territorial gangs and brutal desert weather, they leave and settle in Oregon, but the dangers of Vegas were only the beginning. From lone wanderers, they hear rumors of breeding camps and slave traders. Worst of all are the whispers about the Sevens. People are no longer fighting for survival, they’re fighting for control. Whoever wins out will redefine civilization forever. The group from Las Vegas must join the fray or risk annihilation. The end of the world didn’t kill them, but rebuilding it just might.

The Colony is a post-apocalyptical neo-western that takes place in Grants Pass, Oregon in an alternate timeline where Swine Flu mutates and kills most of the world population. We cover all styles of storylines, but are primarily on the dark end of the spectrum. Please read our FAQ and Rules for more information.

eligere institute: an elite magical academy [10 Jul 2010|10:15am]

eligeremod * holds * app * premise/rules

Eligere is a Magical Boarding School game set on the coast of Oregon at a school for the Pureblooded Elite. In an effort to ensure the old lines and customs continue, arranged marriages are encouraged, something which the school fully supports with special classes for those involved in arranged marriages as well as special accommodations for the engaged upperclassmen at the school.

Proper lineage must be proven to gain admission to Eligere Institute, but we are accepting characters of all political affiliations - both those who support the purist ideals of the school and those who do not. We're looking for an even mix and lots of diversity within the Pureblooded magical population

Game opens at 15 characters or August 1st!!

Twenty-two years and four months ago (give or take a day), Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord. In the years leading up to that fateful day, he and his friends had to grow up too quickly and miss out on some that Hogwarts has to offer, so they could focus on more important things, like saving the entire Wizarding World.

Thanks to their heroic actions, the children of Harry, his friends, his enemies, and the people he passed once or twice in the corridors can all go to Hogwarts and grow up on schedule. Without having to sneak out of the Castle to go hunt Horcruxes, the Potters and Weasleys of today (along with the Macmillans, the Smiths, the Whisps, and everybody else) can instead spend their time on more age-appropriate pursuits, like getting pissed out of their minds on contraband firewhiskey.

Posteritas is a game focused on character relationships and development instead of an overarching plot, in which your characters will have a typical Hogwarts experience (if there is such a thing). There will be Quidditch matches, trips to Hogsmeade, and surely some good-old fashioned pranks, but the students in school on September 1, 2022 don't have to worry about Death Eaters, dementors, or the dark mark. If you're looking to play an ordinary (or not-so-ordinary) magical teenager with a Hogwarts life made exciting by their peers instead of the outside world, this is the game for you.

For The Greater Good RPG, AU Harry Potter RPG [10 Jul 2010|05:19pm]

Game Community | Premise | Rules | Other Gameplay Information | Application
Current Characters | Available Characters
Immediate Plot | Canon Family Information | Ministry of Magic Information and Job List | Information on Muggle Society | Information on the Class of the Chrysanthemum and the Factions

Life changed in 1930 for every wizard and witch in London. Gellert Grindelwald killed Albus Dumbledore on a muggle street and rose to power. Nothing is like it should be. It wasn't long before Grindelwald extended his power to the muggle world as well as the magical world. Halfbloods, muggleborns, and even muggles live in fear. Breaking boundaries and rewriting old laws, he controlled everything he could see. Unhappy with just that, he stretched his power, spanning countries.

The Class of the Chrysanthemum rose early against the dark dictator, only to be broken into factions when their leader, Cassiopeia Black, met her untimely death at the end of Grindelwald's wand. Still the Class of the Chrysanthemum fought on in factions, not knowing who to trust.

It's war, but no one seems to know it.

Set seventy years after his initial take over in 2000, the new millennium, some people still hold hope for the future, but some have given up entirely.

The game officially began May 1, 2010.

Most wanted:
Hermione Granger, Lucius Malfoy, Parvati Patil, Rabastan Lestrange, Rodolphus Lestrange, Pansy Parkinson, Trio-era characters, Weasleys (but Molly and Ginny), and many more.

Now accepting muggles!

Welcome to Avalonis, where superheroes and villains walk the streets and nothing is quite what it seems.

The city of Avalonis was once dubbed the superpowered capital of the world and even today the city is filled with people who can do the most extraordinary things. Some can move things with their mind, others can read them and then there are some who have no powers at all but insist on fighting for justice nonetheless. As when you have a city filled with heroes, villains will follow and now the city is host to some of the most spectacular and epic show downs the world has ever seen.

Beneath the shiny exterior of the city and the side that the tourists come to see in the hope of catching a glimpse of the city's famous heroes and villains is a layer of corruption. The Irish mob and Italian mafia control parts of the city, pushing prostitution and drugs onto the streets of Avalonis. If there's something you crave then there's always a way to get it, no matter how sordid your tastes.

There's a reason why the city needs heroes. Avalonis Police Department is rife with corruption. The internal struggle within the department is probably why they have yet to pay full attention to the recent disappearances of young superpowered individuals, but how long can these disappearances remain unnoticed and who knows more than they're letting on?

I'd love a smutty/drama private line with a Robert Pattinson, Orlando Bloom, Ewan Mcgregor(for a Peter Pan line) or Jackson Rathbone. Anything True Blood or Twilight related would be neat but it doesn't have to be Twilight related either. It would all be PB because I fail at celeb. All on aim because i can't stand threading and I lose interest quickly. I'm not a grammar Nazi either and I'm looking for someone who isn't either.

I don't mind doing slash/bi-sexual either, sometimes. I do want HET/bi sexual lines than full on slash, please. I wouldn't mind pairing Robert and Jackson together. I can play either. So hit me up if interested. Females i can play are Emma Watson, Reese Witherspoon, Sophia Bush, Miranda Kerr and/or Keira Knightley
