Cure-all: (noun) Something believed to cure all human disorders.
It started with The Cure: a drug designed to inhibit and reverse the effects of an active x-gene. The very gene which is responsible for the mutation of thousands of people across the globe. While some saw it as an option for those less fortunate mutants who’s x-gene simply left them physically disfigured, or those with powers that made every day life difficult, others saw it as a weapon. One which would even the playing field for the weaker of the two species: man. While the creators boasted about how powerful The Cure was, time proved it was no match to the way in which the x-gene could make a body adapt. Eventually, The Cure failed. But not before those who’d been offended by it’s very existence were ready to strike back.
Four years later, The Cure-All was a sort of response to The Cure. It was made for all humans who no longer wanted to be weak, who wanted to be part of the next evolutionary step of humanity. Like The Cure, at first, it worked perfectly. But only at first.
Three months after the first human had undergone the change to homo-superior, the powers and mutations seemed to fade. What was left in place of the homo-superior, however, wasn’t quite human. Still alive, they were reduced to one basic instinct: the need to feed. Their choice of meal? Human and homo-superior flesh.
Humans who were so much as scratched or bitten changed into these infected creatures within days. Homo-superior were highly resistant to the disease, yet blood transfer was fatal. Not to mention, the infected outnumbered homo-superior a thousand to one. Numbers dropped significantly, especially for those who remained in the large cities, as they simply became overwhelmed by the infected. Within six months, it had spread throughout the world and infected all but a handful of the human population (who were tucked away underground) and killed around a quarter of the mutant population. Those who survived learned that staying on the move meant staying alive. If they stopped anywhere too long, the infected would come. Only a few at first, but then more and more until their numbers were impossible to fight off. In the end it became a matter of fight together or die alone, and surviving was all anyone could hope for.

Harry Potter RPG: Trio-era AU 
speculum speculorum
or mirror of mirrors is a Harry Potter RPG set in an AU of the Trio-Era.
We know the story of Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the chosen one, but what happened if that story was flipped upside-down. The prophecy read to Lord Voldemort might have meant another boy, Neville Longbottom.
In speculum speculorum, the story is simple: Lord Voldemort went after Neville Longbottom in late 1981, not Harry Potter. Their encounter resulted in the death of both the child Neville, and the Dark Lord. Now, years later, Voldemort's most loyal are planning their revenge on those who chose the other side. They have their sights set on the other boy in that prophecy, along with his family and friends.
It is Harry Potter's 5th year at Hogwarts,
the sides have started to clash
there have been strange attacks
and no one is ready for what's to come.

Wizarding London, 2030 For thirty years, the Wizarding World has enjoyed a sense of peace and prosperity. Hogwarts students have thrived in this new world, and while some mourn the loss of Wizard Tradition, most have embraced the blurring lines between what is magic and what is technology. A new branch of magic, affectionately called MagiTech, has been developed, and with it Wizards can now enjoy things previously only known to Muggles: television, movies, cell phones and the internet (known as the WWWW -- Wizard World Wide Web).
However, there are some who do not agree with the way the current Ministry is handling things. They come from all backgrounds, and blood status, but have one thing in common: the fear that their Wizarding way of life will be lost forever if things continue. And on the night of July 1st, 2030, they're going to do something about it.
The game will deal with the wake of a terrible act of terrorism, and focus on the lives of those left to deal with what has happened. Game opens June 12th, 2010, to give characters time to settle in before the big plot kicks off. | |

"We've got a new phenomena guys and doll -- the Proulx drug. What started off as just one more government funded chemical experiment has turned into a whole new movement. Forget heroine. Forget LCD. We've got a brand new dream world for you, and a literal one at that. The company might have shut down and the government might have banned the drug, but it's still hitting the streets illegally. Now we've got dealers (known as Sandmen) getting richer by the day, addicts (known as Dreamers) living alternate lives in a "hallucinatory" Dream World called Morpheus, and government agents (known as Nightmares) trying desperately to put a stop to it.

You awaken in a room that is devoid of decorations. You are lying on a small cot, a table beside you. Upon the table is a device, similar to that of a PDA. Closer inspection reveals your name inscribed upon the back below an insignia the likes of which you have never seen.
The device is on. On the screen is a note, written in your native tongue. Once the letter is finished, it disappears and in its place is a map leading you to your assigned housing. The door to the room opens at this time and a computerized voice tells you to exit. The corridor is long and narrow. It deposits you out onto an unfamiliar street. The city is large, the architecture foreign. The door behind you closes and you are left alone.
Feel free to explore. You cannot leave the city but all of your needs will be met. Anything you can want, within reason, can be found here. The locals are mostly friendly and compassionate. Their duty is to make your stay here a comfortable one. After all, you are their guest. You are their responsibility.
