Viewing the English lands as damp and worthless, especially compared to his French holdings, King Richard I has journeyed to the Holy Land, focused on the glory of war. His island kingdom has been left in the grasping hands of his youngest brother, Prince John, and grumblings of discontent are spreading throughout the kingdom. In the shire of Nottingham, the peasants, and a few nobles, are beginning to gather, quietly throwing their support behind a charismatic youth known as Robin Hood. Though born of noble parentage, Robin's heritage was taken from him at a tender age. His father, Malcolm, Earl of Huntingdon, abandoned his wife and son, obtaining an annulment through dubious methodology. The young Hood grew up a peasant, with none of the privileges afforded to men of rank and power. That didn't hamper his vision...nor his attitude. The characters are based on those from the BBC Robin Hood series, though histories will be changed to reflect this alternate universe. How will your character's background, attitude, feelings, actions change if they are following not a disgraced lord scrambling to save England and regain his place in society, but a peasant, looking to rebel and change a country more than half a millennium before democracy became a household word? We know the story of Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the chosen one, but what happened if that story was flipped upside-down. The prophecy read to Lord Voldemort might have meant another boy, Neville Longbottom. In speculum speculorum, the story is simple: Lord Voldemort went after Neville Longbottom in late 1981, not Harry Potter. Their encounter resulted in the death of both the child Neville, and the Dark Lord. Now, years later, Voldemort's most loyal are planning their revenge on those who chose the other side. A thin layer of dust covers everything. There are no panes of glass in the windows. The virus. You remember now. They told you stasis was a precaution. Only a few weeks. A month, at best. HP LOVECRAFT BASED RPG. A subtle, sleepy little town whose roots run deep in New England history and into the very pits of hell, some would say. To most of it's residents it is nothing but a town created and sustained by long lines of ancestry. To some of its residents its dark underbelly is a suitable hiding place and hunting ground. To a few, it is a town of mysteries to be explored or exploited. Arkham is has long been the home of many things that go bump in the night and yet, so many of it's residents remain blissfully unaware. The Unnameable is a Lovecraftian based Role Play, in which residents stuggle to cope with the everyday pressures of a life in Arkham, Massachusetts, a place where people vanish without a trace and the forces of light and dark battle against a deeper, darker presence buried just under the earth. By day the town is a seemingly average college town, by night it becomes the haven for a host of dark deeds. Cultists practice ritual sacrifices while vampires drain the blood of the innocent. Downfall RPG [21 Mar 2010|10:12pm] it started with shrieks ...and then the world just... ended. Most of the population died, and the rest that didn't mutated. They became hideous, feral creatures that terrorize each other and us... or they became what's left of the human race. That's us. We're the survivors of the Apocalypse. We've made our way so far, and we've settled into a relatively safe hotel to try and come to terms with life, our new powers and the challenges that keep coming up. There are others out there, though... people that are violently claiming territory, making our lives more terrifying than they already were. There was an attack, too. We lost a man. We're holding the attacker, but... what do we do with him? Where do we go from here? --- We are currently seeking to fill 5 open spots in our game. The spots are first-come, first-serve. Placing a hold does not mean that you are guaranteed admission into the game. If your application is not up to par, we will not accept you. We are - however - some of the friendliest mods you will ever find, period. We're fun and willing to take any ideas into consideration. You will never be refused for your play-by choice, or rejected without explanation. This is an anti-clique atmosphere with mod and player driven plots.
