Premise & Cast List & Pacific Crest Academy
Rules & Application & Game Directory

It's 2009 and while all is not well with the world, the young witches and wizards in America are more concerned with passing their classes than international politics. The second Great War has been over in the United Kingdom for ten years and even though the battle between Harry Potter and the Dark Lord Voldemort is an important part of any American wizard's History of Magic class, it is not given much thought beyond that. Yes, blood purism is wrong; yes, there will always be bigots out there; hey- isn't there a quodpot match this afternoon?

While the wizarding youth of America are more worried about pimples and passing their classes, their parents are keeping a concerned ear turned to the news that a group of well-respected muggles are claiming to now possess magical powers. These aren't the typical muggle who believes they are magically inclined- these are CEOs, politicians and community leaders. Is this all a hoax, are these people really developing latent magical abilities, or is someone else pulling their strings?

This is Pacific Coast Academy, one of the four most prestigious wizarding academies in the United States. The new term is just around the corner. Are you ready to go back to school?

Colligo [02 May 2009|01:16am]

Deep within the Canopus System lies the planet, Soter, a world strangely similar to Earth that was abandoned long ago by its original inhabitants. Placed on the black market, the planet was eventually purchased by a eccentric man known only as The Collector. He spent many years restoring the planet's greatest city, Colligo, to its former glory and many intergalactic entrepreneurs believed he intended to turn Colligo into one of the greatest vacation destinations the known galaxy had ever seen.

They were wrong.

Instead, Colligo became The Collector's display case for his personal collection of people. During the time he spent restoring Colligo, he also began selecting worthy specimens to start his collection with and others to be added to it later. These unfortunate people, after having been grabbed from their respective planets, times, and realities, awaken within the Colligo's Grand Library, a massive building filled with books who's pages are blank, devoid of pictures or words. They are unaware of where they are or how they got there and are soon ushered out into the city by guards dressed in medieval armor. No matter what abilities the new addition possesses, fighting the guards is impossible - as is leaving Colligo.

You, unfortunately, have caught The Collector's eye and have been added to his collection. You're faced with two choices: learn to live in this city or die trying to escape it. The choice is yours.

Colligo is a panfandom game set in an original world. We are het/slash/femme friendly and welcome any fandom out there. The Collector wants you.

WELCOME TO DENVER, COLORADO.

When the Others came out to the world in 2003, the humans weren’t quite sure what to think. Suddenly, they weren’t alone in the world; they were no longer the most dominant species on the planet, though they still far outnumbered those with remarkable, unbelievable gifts. Werecreatures began to show themselves all around the globe, transforming in plain sight for all to see, the vampires not far behind. It didn’t take long for the remaining, mortal population to divide; some wanted to be like those they came to call Others, wanted into their worlds, some feared them and made their voices heard. Some refused to believe the revelation, even after it swept the media, printed in black and white and flashed across news bulletins worldwide.

It didn’t take long for the humans to realise there were too many of them to just ignore. Tensions mounted, worried parents wondering if their children were safe with the ‘offspring’ of Others in the same schools as their precious boys and girls. Word quickly spread when a small handful of powerful politicians and one or two influential leaders came out to the world, announcing what they were. The Others were everywhere.

Slowly but surely, everything began to ease; the humans started to settle, and following their example, those who had come clean relaxed, assured that their lives were not in danger. Time passed, and the Others began to pop up in every walk of life; musicians, teachers, store clerks, newsreaders. They really were everywhere.

And yet, hidden among their own kind, those who were not quite supernatural and not quite normal hesitated on the threshold, on the verge of announcing themselves. Others were already treated warily, even five years down the line, but how would mortals react to their own kind being Gifted? Able to read thoughts undetected and burn strong buildings to the ground without accelerant or matches, the Gifted knew they would be feared perhaps even more than those able to shift into animals or drain the blood from mortals. So they lie in wait, keeping their powers hidden, waiting and watching, to see how the first chapter ends.

Because if history has taught us anything, it is that division never truly goes away, and sooner or later, the shaky balance will be torn apart.

"….Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able stop themselves. You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing … The Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere … panic … confusion …"

Across Europe the Wizarding Community lies in fear. Voldemort and his followers are on the rise, leaving behind a reign of terror in their wake. As his numbers increase, Wizards begins to grow more uneasy, increasingly choosing to fall prey to his Empire, out of fear, unwilling to stand up and fight.

In spite of the increasing danger, a small group of vigilante Wizards have begun a rebellion, daring to do what the Ministry fears to do; fight. The Order of the Phoenix is slowly growing into a force to be reckoned with, threatening not only Voldemort, but the Ministry itself.

Change is on the brink for the students of Hogwarts. No longer will they be safe behind the confines of the castle, unaware to the real dangers of the world. They will soon be forced to make their own loyalties known; a decision that will affect not only the rest of their lives, but the entire Wizarding World.

Amongst the darkness, these students are potentially the light needed to give the Order the man power to take on Voldemort’s forces. As both sides fight to gain support, one question lies: which side do you choose?

It is an ordinary day.

You start to wake - perhaps you stretch and yawn, before opening your eyes. But you aren't in your own room. This is not your own bed.

Panic hits you like a slap to the face. Perhaps you rush to the window: if you do look out, you will see an unfamiliar scene. Perhaps you wonder if you are dreaming, but pinching yourself will only leave a bruise. Perhaps you rush to the mirror: if you do this, you will see nothing but your own familiar face, in an unfamiliar room.

You have woken up in Morana Hill. It is a pleasant place to live. You appear to own the house you live in - it's your name on those telephone bills, and look, there's a letter addressed to you from... your new employer, welcoming you to your job.

Morana Hill is your typical, all-American small town. With one exception: it is divided into two separate yet distinct groups: those like you, the 'newcomers' and the 'citizens' - those who have always been there. The citizens mill about, living their very ordinary lives - they can leave and return, and if you mention what has happened to you they will respond with incredulous surprise, before changing the subject apbruptly. Those like you, will understand, perhaps commisserate. But they cannot help you.

For in Morana Hill, just like the Hotel California, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Of course, you're not going to have to struggle through this alone. For whoever has brought you here has given someone the unpleasant task of breaking this news to you. Within minutes of waking, there will be a knock on the door. Leon is your greeter, and he woke this morning to the unwanted sight of your name and (brand new) address on a purple post it note, stuck to his clock, the alarm, not set by him, going off at the ungodly hour of 5:45 am. Leon has no answers, and is probably the most ill-equipped person to play 'fearless leader', but he's all the newcomers have.

What you do with this new life will be up to you. Will you accept your fate, create a life for yourself in Morana Hill and try to forget those you left behind? Or will you be hell-bent on escape? Or maybe you're more interesting in finding out WHO did this to you, and making them pay.

Weekly fates will give you hints and clues to what is really going on in this town. It's up to you what you do with them. Good Luck!

... you are SERIOUSLY gonna need it.

Time Between: A Twilight RPG

[info]time_between
[info]time_ooc

"The Time has come for the great ones, the ones who have long since hindered our lives, keeping our identity secret, to fall. They do not believe in our race, in our freedom. Our kind has been turned in to the monsters that hide away until night. It's time to let us become the superior race we were created to be and let the humans know it is not God they should fear, but it us." - Maria

"When I lived with the Volturi, I met two immortal children, so I know firsthand the appeal they had. Aro studied the little ones for many years after the catastrophe they'd caused was over. You know his inquisitive disposition; he was hopeful that they could be tamed. But in the end, the decision was unanimous: the immortal children could not be allowed to exist." - Carlisle

There are whispers through the south that something epochal is going on. The newborns of Seattle were nothing compared to what's been rumored to be happening this time. Talk of a group of immortal children being created and of Maria, the woman who managed to escape the Volturi's punishment for her participation in the Vampire Wars of the South. She's been quietly biding her time in Mexico, slowly gathering up an army of her own, one that rivals and surpasses the Guard. She's found herself at the head of a cult like following of Vampires that have each been scorned by the Volturi Royalty themselves. Joined by the Romanian's who have long since been awaiting the moment for Volterra to be overthrown, this group of Vampire's are looking for a fight.

The Volturi itself faces complications of their own, and what will happen when their loyalty to each other is tested? What will become of the men that have kept order amongst the Vampire world for over a thousand years when the guard that they count on leaves their post? Who will they turn to to keep their numbers strong and present a united front?

[info]time_between is a post Eclipse, complaint game, focusing on writing an alternate ending to the events that happened after the third novel in Stephanie Meyer's saga Twilight.

Open as of April 1st with a ton of interaction already in play!

Currently casting: Alec and Demitri of the Volturi, Liam of the Irish Coven, Carmen and Eleazar of the Denali Coven, Sam Uley, Embry Call and Quil Ateara, Charlie Swan, Sue Clearwater, Humans, and Nomads, particularly Peter!

A stable core of players have dedicated themselves to making this an active, exciting game with a lot of plot for all characters, and not just certain groups of species. Ages 18+

when i grow up
a celebrity rpg
a welcoming, drama-free celeb game!

When I Grow Up is a celeb game without the bells and whistles. Real-world, reality-based celebrity RP, baby. No asylums, no high schools, just your fave celebs in their (more or less) natural habitat!

We're a fairly straightforward stylin' game. We use first person journal entries which are just that - journal entries. The real action takes place over IM scening (or just in-character IMing, whatever strikes your fancy!)

It's easy to jump in - we're new enough to still be forging all sorts of connections, but established enough to be comfortable and secure. We really welcome new players!

It's 2003 and the Wizarding World has come a long way since the Final Battle. Slowly the magical community has rebuilt and healed from the destruction of Voldemort's reign. Most characters make their home within Diagon Alley as new flats and residences have opened their doors.

Most Wanted Characters:

Draco Malfoy
Bill, Percy, & Fleur Weasley
Parvati Patil
Oliver Wood
Hufflepuffs & Slytherins

Our Game & Players

Charing Cross is a unique game where each month a new plot is presented for the characters. Much like real life the characters must react to current events as well as manage their personal relationships. Our hope is that through these small, short-lived plots players will take the opportunity to develop their characters and relationships with other players. We also encourage small group plots, such as book clubs, bowling leagues and writer's circles among many others.

Charing Cross has a small group of dedicated, talented creative writers who are hopeful for new friends. We're looking for equally dedicated writers who want to experience a slightly different RPG experience. The mods are friendly and easy-going and encourage player input. We're looking for players who bring something slightly different to the table as well, with fresh, exciting characters. There are plenty of interactive experiences just waiting to happen, so give us a chance and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Future Plot

Don't worry -- when the current plot ends the game won't stop! The mods are busy developing the next bit of action and whatever it is -- We promise it will be EPIC! Previous plots have included gender swaps, masquerade balls and karaoke nights. We encourage player input into what they'd like to see next, and there's even a portion of the application where prospective players can have their say.
