The. Fruitful. Project. [12 Jan 2009|12:11am]
* The Fruitful Project is in no way possible affiliated with "The Eden Project" ([info]eden_project) or "Neogenesis" ([info]neogenesismod). The Fruitful Project is an independent game founded on November 2nd 2008. It has no prequels, sequels, or spin-offs. Any similarities with any games that have come before it are purely coincidental.

The Fruitful Project
Original Character. Future. Arranged Marriage. 17 & Up.

In the year 2010 the world was plagued by the full effect of Global Warming. No country was spared, and no one could imagine the speed in which it came. Within months entire cities were underwater, drier than deserts, or completely leveled. Thousands died and there was no end in sight. Many lost hope until 2020 when the Eden Project was founded.

The Eden Project was a last ditch effort by the human race. Surviving scientists came up with a chemical, a gas called 'Eden' that would hopefully cool the atmosphere enough to put a stop to the catastrophes happening around the world. Slowly but surely the temperature began to drop and the storms slowed. In the time between the beginning of the storms to the launch of the Eden Project, the world population had dropped from nearly seven billion to a little below five.

It was another six years before the effect of the 'Eden' chemical was known.

It began in 2028. There were suddenly less children being born and by the end of 2029, pregnancies stopped all together. The men and women of the world were now completely sterile. It was soon discovered that the Eden chemical was the cause of the sterilization, that the one thing that had saved the world had also doomed it to an inevitable ending, the population destined to dwindle down to nothing.

Now in 2048, after the population has dropped to below three billion, a solution has been found. The same lab that came up with the Eden project has been working for the past nineteen years to reverse the devastating effects without destroying the clean and near perfect atmosphere of Earth. The Fruitful project was a serum, a cure that reversed the sterilization but only in people below the age of thirty.

The Global Government is taking a drastic step to increase the population. The Governments of the world began to administer the serum by either offering it for people to take willingly or slipping it into the water. To further insure that the population will continue to grow, a global law has been put into place. A marriage law. The Fruitful Law.

Every healthy, non-married person between the ages of nineteen and twenty-nine are to be married, whether by choice or by Government selection. The couple will have a one year period at the most after their marriage to conceive.

The Fruitful project is for the betterment of our world. Who will be your match?

A note about the mods:
The mods at Fruitful are experienced players who have seen their fair share of fantastic games...and the not-so fantastic games. First and foremost, they are players who want to be a part of an active, successful game. They are here to listen to your opinions, and to create a community of players, not just a game for characters to be played in. The mods care about any player who is accepted or even just thinking about applying. Every character will have some sort of plot to participate in, and no entry a character makes will be ignored.

The role play is set in a fictional town by the name of Innovo, California. It is the year 2048.

City Of Hills is an aim and thread friendly PB/city based community set in San Francisco, California.

Writers of this community are promised to have control over their story lines. As long as things are kept realistic, the mod(s) will not worry about how much of whatever is going around; especially considering this is a city wide based game. If things get out of hand, the game will address the issue(s) as a whole then. Members of this community have a voice with us and their opinions and suggestions are always validated and taken into high consideration. We also will provide a lot of interactive opportunities for characters. All play by (PB) types welcome.

It is 1976. At the turn of the new year a group called the Death Eaters entered a London club and massacred two hundred and seventeen muggles and wizards alike. They left a green symbol shining in the night sky as a marker and a message-- Blood Purity; Take Back the Stolen Right.

The atmosphere has thickened. What was once a carefree time for a group of teenagers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is now a time of fear and uncertainty. Those who plan to join the ministry have to reconsider what they will be signing up for.

Right now, at least, they are living at the safest place to be. They can try to go on with life as usual.

"As a magician I promise never to reveal the secret of any illusion to a non-magician, unless that one swears to uphold the Magician's Oath in turn. I promise never to perform any illusion for any non-magician without first practicing the effect until I can perform it well enough to maintain the illusion of magic."

Say you walk into a magic show, take a seat, and see the magician pull out a bunny out of his hat. Yes, entertaining, but there’s a logical explanation for it. Anybody could walk to a store and buy a gimmicked hat. Now, pretend you’re walking down a road, and a street magician comes out and asks you to pick a card from a deck. You pick one out, and it’s the ace of spades. You put it back in the deck, and he guesses your card, and guesses right. There are many logical explanations for this, so you go on nearly unimpressed. Now, say you’re in town, and there’s a magic show in the city. Feeling like you need some entertainment, you go, and the magician levitates himself three feet off the ground. But you think in your head, there must be some hidden wires. Right?

But what if the magician pulled the bunny out of a hat that was not gimmicked? That had no secret pockets, and no hidden zipper. What if the magician took a random card, and just merely guessed your card out of his head? Without cheating and looking back into the deck. What if the magician didn’t use any wires? He just went up without anything. But how is that possible? Well…

What if it was all real?

Centuries ago, nobody knows how, and nobody knows why, but children were being born with these abilities; abilities to vanish objects out of thin air, levitate stories off of the ground, and transform one object into another. The powers have been passed down from family to family, and their abilities have been held a secret because of that one incident.

Scientists, mad, hostile scientists discovered these gifted people and started to capture them. Experiment on them. And for some; kill them. In their point of view, people like them; people with abilities do not belong in this world. So they capture them, looking for a cure.

Their abilities; their tricks; all a secret. Some use them to cast magic shows and use it for a living. Some use their abilities for just normal life. And some don’t use them at all.

But no matter what, a magician never reveals their secret.

Oblivion [12 Jan 2009|11:33pm]

On December 26th, 2009, the cruise ship Nausicaä set sail from Miami to Bermuda on her maiden voyage.

In the months beforehand, 100 lucky people from all over the world won themselves a ticket with a budding cruise line, Odyssey Lines. Some entered themselves, some didn't - though it was explained that a friend, family, or co-worker anonymously submitted their name in a contest. To all winners, it seemed like a dream come true. An all-expenses paid New Years celebration in paradise. Plane tickets to Miami, and home from Bermuda were included.

The Nausicaä was set to arrive in Bermuda on January 4th, 2010. That never happened.

On New Years Eve, a terrible storm hit them at sea, pushing them off-course and sending them deeper into the Bermuda Triangle. All outside communication with the world was lost. Satelite devises, such as tracking, died. Compasses began to spin. Cell phones stopped working. They were lost at sea.

On January 2nd, the Nausicaä turned what was presumably East, knowing that eventually they'd hit something. This, too, never happened. Though direction was never altered, the sun rose and set in a new position every day.

Crew started disappearing. The captain kills himself. The Nausicaä is lost in the Bermuda Triangle, its passengers left to fend for themselves.

Will you survive?

Oblivion is a brand new, original-character game just opened on January 2nd. We have friendly, experienced mods, and an ever-growing player base happy to plot! Don't miss your chance to be there from the beginning!
