Mind-Blast ~ Let your imagination run wild [17 Jul 2011|11:33am]

Mind-Blast.net is an RPG forum that caters for several different RPG Games at once. The idea of the forum is an emphasis on the roleplay itself rather than all the OOC bits and bobs. Members only need to apply to join the board itself rather than each individual game. Once their application has been approved they are free to join any game hosted here.

It is then up to the members to create a character, post a character profile and following the rules of each game. There are no set timelines in the games, and members are catergorised 'Roleplay Grades' which show other members how many times they are able to post each week. This is so that RPers can roleplay at a pace that suits them with others that post at a similar pace. In other words; roleplay how you want to.

This doesn't mean that there are no rules or guidelines here at Mind-Blast.net. The normal no powerplaying, god modding and other roleplaying ettiquette rules exist, and we maintain an intermediate to advanced level of writing. This means that Mind-Blast.net is not suitable for beginners. There will be a moderator per game to oversee the game, but otherwise the game is in the hands of the players themselves.

Currently there are three active games at M-B.net and more will be added in the future. Members can petition to have a Game added to M-B.net at any time. One thing you will come to notice about the Games here; they always feature original characters. Even if a game is set in a fandom universe canon characters are not accepted.

Dark Pretenses is an old game of mine that has reopened here on M-B.net. It is a supernatural/urban fantasy game set in the University of Reading, UK, and features original species and ideas.

Celestial Illusions is an game based in the Anita Blake universe created by Laurell K Hamilton, featuring original characters and plot.

Stonehythe is an epic fantasy game based in land seperated by war and past grudges.

Consequences - A Post-DH AU Harry Potter RPG [17 Jul 2011|12:09pm]
PROTESTERS DEMAND MINISTER'S RESIGNATION
[info]cqmods via [info]consequences
A protest was held in Diagon Alley this afternoon with three dozen witches and wizards demanding for Minister Shacklebolt's resignation. For two hours the crowd cluttered Diagon and made sure that each and every passerby was away of their opinions. Howlers flew around Diagon, confronting Ministry employees who dared ventured into Diagon for lunch. When any employee attempted to get away, protesters followed them and demanded answers to their questions.

The key questions included why the Minister hadn't done anything to stop Muggles from losing their souls, why the Ministry was allowing ROs to hold high ranking positions and why the Minister refused to destroy the veil and stop other ROs from coming through. The Ministry has not yet issued a statement, but the protest adds to the sinking popularity of our Minister. His approval ratings are the lowest they have been since Minister Shacklebolt took office in May of 1998.

Though many of questioned how the newest situation is being handled, few have offered alternative options. A source from within CUSRO speaking on the condition of secrecy informed the Prophet they are no further along in understanding the spell than they were in February when this all began. It appears the Ministry is not very concerned with current affairs.

"If anyone and I mean anyone sends a Howler after me again, I will not be afraid to take action and throw you in Azkaban myself. You are a bunch of cowardly idiots and I am absolutely and downright sick of your bullshit." -Parvati Patil

"Anyone who is demanding Kingsley's Minister Shacklebolt's resignation is an idiot." -Nymphadora Lupin

"Methinks they doth protest too much. Especially since I doubt a single bleeding one of them could do a better job than Kingsley Shacklebolt. That's the problem with protesters and complainers - they whinge and whinge and demand this thing or that thing, but ask them for a damn solution and they can't give you shite." -Gideon Prewett

"I can't say its a terrible change to have people angry at someone other than me and mine for once. I might even be able to get used to it. " -Draco Malfoy

"Will someone explain to me how allowing people to be branded is a good thing? I must be missing something. Or have we all just accepted that and decided it's not really worth fighting about?" -Lizzie Montgomery

Most Wanted: Anti-Ministry and Anti-RO supporters, Death Eaters, Ginny Weasley, Alicia Spinnet, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Ted Tonks, Molly Weasley, Bellatrix Lestrange, Hestia Jones, Colin Creevey, Ernie MacMillan, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, Terry Boot, Michael Corner, Slytherin society girls, and more available!

Pax Letale: a modern myth game [17 Jul 2011|07:08pm]
PAX LETALE: GODS REBORN

In Southern California, there recently opened a new luxury apartment building. Impeccably designed, impossibly convenient, ideally located, Pax Letale is the sort of residential Shangri La where Southern Californians spend all manner of favors and years trying to secure a spot. But Pax doesn't have a waiting list, nor can a place there be bought or sold. The people who find their way to Pax Letale belong there.

Every tenant of Pax is a reincarnated deity whose worshipers are by and large long dead. Once very real, these gods began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. Reborn as mortals, their essences remain, waiting to be awakened. Somehow, sometimes one by one, sometimes in groups or pairs, these creatures of destiny have discovered Pax, and have not been able to resist its pull.

For at Pax Letale, the awakening has begun. As these gods rediscover themselves and each other, the seemingly invisible but ubiquitous management tracks each of them quite closely, and the very building itself seems to have an agenda of its own. And as the gods made humans in their own image - or humans made them in theirs - so will the the behavior of the people of Pax turn as dark as their myths. Blood, strife, sex, petty plots, torture - even murder will wind their ways into Pax Letale.

A lovely place. A peculiar place. A dangerous place.

Available Tenants:

Enki is the Babylonian god of water, crafts, intelligence and creation. Twin of and best friend of Ereshkigal, goddess of the Underworld, he is often seen as a positive foil to his brother Enlil, utilizing his magic and cunning for the good of others; he brings aid to deities and humans alike, serving as a rare masculine nuturer in a chaotic and often oppressively patriarchal pantheon. He will likely have connections to Tiamat, Ereshkigal, and other Sumero-Babylonian deities.

Brighid is the Celtic goddess of the forge, inspiration, compassion and creativity, and a patron goddess of artists, craftsmen, and other creative types. In her mortal life, she may have connections to her parents, her siblings, or any of the Celtic pantheon.

Masauwu is a Hopi deity sometimes called the Skeleton Man, Keeper of Fire, Spirit of Death, and the Master of the Fourth (present) World. He is depicted as a dark-skinned man wearing a mask; sometimes the creature beneath this mask is described as handsome, sometimes as a disfigured monster. Connections to Native American deities and gods and goddesses of death or enlightenment are likely.

ADDITIONAL AVAILABLE TENANTS

Don't see a tenant that interests you? Other deities and pantheons are welcome - pick one of the active pantheons in the game, or talk to a mod if there's one you don't see, and make your modern god as you see him/her/it.

Pax Letale has re-opened under new management.
Holds and applications are being accepted for all available pantheons.

Welcome to New Orleans or N’awlins as the locals say. Something here lies hidden that many don’t find so strange -- this party town holds a few secrets that would scare most people. Known for voodoo, hoodoo, and other dark arts this quaint little city has some things up its sleeve. Many things here do go bump in the night. The city has been rebuilt after being rocked by Hurricane Katrina and with its old residents returning, a few things came with it. NoLa is Rising.
Taking holds. The game is set to open on Thursday, July 21.

Changed RPG: Opening in THREE DAYS! [17 Jul 2011|09:32pm]

ONE DECISION CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

Changed is an AU game that follows a timeline which assumes that Peter Pettigrew made quite a different choice in 1981. Rather than betraying his closest friends to Voldemort, Peter confessed his regretted Dark Mark to Albus Dumbledore and to the Order of the Phoenix. As a result, when Voldemort came to the Godric’s Hollow on Halloween, he was met with the full force of the Order’s power, which broke his own. At the time, it was thought that Voldemort had been defeated forever, but now the world knows know that this was not the case and a second war is building. In the midst of that war, a boy who never was The Boy Who Lived has a prophecy to fulfill, but that boy’s world is immensely different. How different? Come to Changed, and craft your own answer to that question.
