You think you know London, its streets and alleys like the creases of your palm. You don't know all its secrets. In its depths are places to buy amulets and tarot readings, a talisman that permits the wearer to manipulate luck hangs alongside bottles of herbs and demon's blood. Books so ancient the pages are tissue-thin jostle against postcards of buses and telephone boxes. There are bars where the clientele don't just find the dim light flattering, but downright necessary, and the smell of brimstone lingers in the nostrils. There are corners and recesses where magic isn't trickery or sleight of hand, but blood and bone and flesh and you might -- you might -- catch sight of feathers pure as snow and light, if you know where to go. If you know how to see. There's a pitched battle being fought for this other London and your London besides -- one in which every human in existence is being counted in a gamble for souls, Heaven and Hell trying to tip the scales and grave-faced Librarians holding them steady. And all the time, people go about their lives with a little pinch of something extra in a London you'll never see. |

On October 31, 1981, an event happened that changed wizarding history – Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, went to Godric's Hollow, and defeated Lily and James Potter. It was the turning point in the war, and six months later, the Death Eaters gained control of the Ministry of Magic and the Order was crushed. Muggleborns had severe restrictions put on them, including restricting jobs, education and who they could marry. Restrictions were also placed on muggle items, travel and communication with the muggle world.
Purebloods flourished in the new political climate, and under the direction of Narcissa Malfoy, great social changes began to take shape. Called the "Great Wizarding Renaissance," there was a call to return to pureblood values and manners in order to further separate themselves from the immoral and inferior muggle world. Traditional courtship was brought back, and matches were made not of love, but to strengthen bloodlines.
The year is 2001, and a new announcement by the Ministry of Magic will once again strengthen the divide, all but cutting off the magical world. Will it be enough to pull the Order of the Phoenix from its slumber, or will this be the stroke that severs the two worlds for good?

Hey everyone, I am still looking for some long-term AIM partners. In brief, I play het or femme. I tend to get more responses for femme and I don't want those people to not feel welcome to message me but I would also like to encourage those with straight male characters to inquire. Femme players, please don't hesitate either. I have a bunch of BRIEF ideas in my journal with some of my tastes but I am very open to combining, modifying or developing anything with a good storyline. I also do not want the RP to be complete sex based or smut-HEAVY. I DO like smut when there is a build up or when the scene calls for it. Refer to the post in my journal for a bit about me. If for some reason that does not work, I am open to answer any questions you have.

In addition we're looking for more cops (straight and crooked), FBI agents, lawyers (for the city or for the families), informants, the matriarchs for both the Italian and Russian families, more capos, underbosses, drug runners, car thieves, prostitutes, enforcers, anything you can think of. The ENTIRE German family is open, and we will be lifting the civilian cap soon!
