Hey there! [info]boston_mafia is a mafia RPG based in Boston, MA (name kind of says it all). The community focuses on the war that is happening between three main families (Irish, Italian and Russian). Some are allies, some are enemies. They all have their differences and all want full control of Boston and the surrounding cities.

We welcome original characters! We're in desperate need of more law enforcement, FBI, state troopers, cops. Dirty cops are welcome, too!

We're getting close to hitting our first year of being open and we're trying out some new things to keep everyone involved. Check us out! Adds are normally done Wednesdays and Saturdays, but on occasion they're done as applications come in!

We have just set up a German family and will start accepting characters when we get four applications for that family.

whose side are you on?

Since the beginning of time, the Knight Templars and Assassins fought each other in a secret war. No one knew of these wars, unless they were affiliated with either side. The Templars sought to bring an utopian society to the human civilization, controlling their every movement. The Assassins believed free will will reign and free will is what makes every individual. Battling in multiple cities and civilizations across time, no side is officially winning. In the year 2012, the Templars, or known as Abstergo Industries to the common eye, controls over NASA and their satellites. Their goal? They want to send out a piece of eden on a satellite on December 21st, 2012. The Assassins are dwindling in numbers and now, they're going against one of the largest corporations known to man. As technology advances, the Templars are finding Assassins much quicker than expected. They utilized cell towers to locate Assassin descendants. Now hiding underneath the city of London through sewers and underground train tunnels, the Assassins call Sanctuary their new home. Relying on their Animus 2.0, they must go back in time to search for the pieces of eden and destroy anyone associated to the Templars.

Hogwarts, meet the Ministry.

With the latest orders from the Ministry, the structure of the Prefect system at Hogwarts was the first change: Prefects have been paired by year and house, forming a team which cannot assign detentions or take house points without consulting one another. It was from this new policy that the Inquisitorial Squad was reborn: a student-run club designed to train interested students in Ministry issues and conflict resolution. At Hogwarts, things are orderly, organized, and above all, fair - or are they?

Prefects are finding new ways to abuse their powers and control others. Students retaliate in their own ways, bringing personal issues before the Inquisitorial Squad, treating it more like a Hogwarts' version of the Wizengamot than a wizarding Model UN club. A secret society runs amok in the student underground, their activities and intentions mysterious and seemingly neutral -- for now.

In a socially revolutionary game, the members of Absit Invidia invite you to join the new generation of wizards and witches as they return to Hogwarts, the war of their parents forgotten. Their new challenge? The battles of everyday life as a young magician; struggling to make friendships, remember charms and pass classes in the face of adjusted policies and countless possibilities.

Opened December 1st!

"I've reported murders, scandals, marriages, premieres and national political conventions. I've been amused, intrigued, outraged, enthralled and exasperated by Chicago. And I've come to love this American giant, viewing it as the most misunderstood, most underrated city in the world. There is none other quite like my City of Big Shoulders.

It's 2005, and the New Year has started off with a bang. There's a new group making itself known in the Wizaring World, sowing a new wave of fear and mistrust, opening up old wounds from a war everyone had hoped was over. The targets span all classes and levels of blood, Death Eaters, Ministry workers, and citizens alike.

They couldn't come at a worse time. A bear market and a pushy Prime Minister already has Wizarding England on edge. Advances in muggle technology threaten wizards as more and more of them are caught on camera. The wisdom of the Statute of Secrecy is being called to question for the first time in centuries.

Still, things aren't as bad as they could be. Suspicions run high, but the body count is still low. Innocents aren't being killed. Yet. Many in the country believe the Ministry's assurances and try to live peaceful lives as best they can. They don't realize how rapidly their chances for peace are disappearing...
The 8th Floor is a DH-compliant, post-war game that aims to take a look at the interplay between the magical and muggle worlds and the myriad of problems something like the Statute of Secrecy could cause. We plan to meld plot, politics, and social aspects into an intense gaming experience.

First time the game is being advertised. Almost all characters are wanted.

Time and space are ultimate dividing forces that separate generations of witches and wizards, but soon that divide will be breached. There have been cracks before, but one wizard will wrench it open completely. Named the Collector, he sits in his own empty world that he controls and manipulates as he desires. However, there is an issue. It is empty, yet this will not last. No, the Collector shall soon start gathering his toys to fill the gaps. Through various points in human history, he is taking who he wishes. His motivations may be unclear, but somehow each of his toys will serve a purpose for his plans.

Once each of these ‘toys’ are collected, they will be confronted by the realities of their situation. Information of their future lives will greet a large majority of his subjects, and then, they must cope. They cannot leave and, will instead, have to adapt. However, adapting is not simple for their situation will not remain constant. The Collector will not just leave his toys alone, but will play with them as he desires.

Life in the Collector's Domain will keep transforming. One moment the place will appear like a desert, then a coastal town, and then, a tropical rainforest. However, all the while, the people cannot leave until He demands it. They will experience various trials and tribulations, some that seem almost playful (from the outsider), and others, much more sinister.

So, what will you do when the Collector calls on you? As one of his toys, how will you survive? How will you react when you have no information about your situation, except for a small note in a journal that falls from the sky and what you can learn from those who are suffering through the same thing?

Welcome to the Collectors!
