Six degrees of separation (also referred to as the "Human Web") refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer.
In January 2006, Wizarding Great Britain is finally ready to move on from the events of May 1998. Hogwarts reconstruction has been completed, old shops have been restored and reopened and new shops have popped up in Wizarding towns. The community and commerce is thriving once more.
However, old prejudices die hard. School rivalries still ring true, Pureblood Supremecists still hold their views with utmost importance and Muggleborn Rights Activists still fight for complete equality. Not everyone gets along and this is no perfect world. Where will you fit in? Will you be the Boy Hero having drinks at a local pub with the Slytherin Prince? Will you be the Bubbling Badger secretly pining after the Raven Seeker? Will you be the Brawny Sidekick struggling to shed pretense in order to strike up a friendship with the Bookish Brunette?
Wherever you fit in, just remember that we are all connected. Where rivalries, prejudices, romances and friendships run, our steps from one person to the next run closer and deeper.
Welcome to Six Degrees! |

In 1970, Tom Riddle returned from a world of dark travels and began to take the wizarding world by storm; his army growing more and more powerful each day while the remainder of the wizarding world was left in shock, terrified for their lives and the lives of their families. Ten years later, the future is not much brighter as the Death Eaters swell in numbers and innocent people are thrown into Azkaban prison without so much as a trial. Families are being murdered, terror seeps into the Muggle world, and witches and wizards go missing every day, some deserting their homes to escape while there's still time while the fate of others is unknown.
Villages are empty, things as common as shopping can no longer be done safely, shop owners who dare stay open see hardly any livelihood. The WWN has been taken over, the Ministry is full of spies. Bonds are broken, trust is a thing of the past and friends hardly exist anymore. The world is a grim. Many get married quickly for fear that they may not have much time left to live. A select few with enough talent worth investing in are given the choice of servitude or death; those who are impure of blood and many who refuse Lord Voldemort meet the latter, however there is a beacon of light, a bright Phoenix rising from the ashes of this world and though they are outnumbered, they are fighting back. The brave few, the resistance to overcome evil. The Order of the Phoenix is making a stand... and they're winning.
The time has come to run or to stand and fight, to live in fear or to die bravely. The time has come to choose a side. It is time to decide what is worth living and dying for. Which side will you choose? 9, January, 1980 marks the beginning of the end of a ten year battle.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.
The TARDIS, in her infinite wisdom, has connected all of her favourite people to her own network.
This network stretches out through time and space and, whether by accident or design, connects to multiple points in time, so that not just one Jack Harkness is online but eight!
Imagine the possibilities...
Wanted: Jack Harkness, Owen Harper, Toshiko Sato, Gwen Cooper, Suzie Costello, Rhys Williams, Andy Davidson, Rory Williams, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Mickey Smith, The Doctor [9], John Hart, Time Agents, Torchwood agents from the 70's, and more!
