Asheville has been proclaimed to be a "New Age Mecca" as well as "the new freak capital of the US". Most people overlook these statements made by the media, because most of Asheville's residents live there because it was named one of the top seven places to live in the US, it's location in the mountains and surrounding areas is ideal, and life moves at a slower pace in the South. Little do people know that the first two statements are true, and Asheville has been rumored to sport some serious supernatural activity. For many years supernatural creatures of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds have been migrating to this city in the Blue Ridge Mountains. None of them can quite put their finger on why they are drawn there, but there is a pull that they just can't ignore. Perhaps it has something to do with the convergence of all these different supernaturals, or maybe something darker is brewing underneath the city of Asheville. Beyond the Blight - A post origins dragon age game. [18 May 2010|10:04am] The fifth blight was stopped by the actions of two grey wardens and their companions. It has been one year since the end of the Blight but calm does not reign in Thedas the way one might assume. Darkspawn have not been driven entirely from the realm, though the Blight was vanquished. The dwarves of Orzammar are not at all united. The Dalish are moving south to the lands granted them by the Queen. Denerim is still being rebuilt, humans still oppose one another and the alienage elves continue to suffer at the hands of humans. This is the current state of affairs in Ferelden. Progeny- A Next Generation Marvel Game [18 May 2010|12:02pm] PROGENY A Next Generation Marvel RPG In the early 1990's humans became aware of the presence of mutants and super powered being among them. In 1998 mutant registration passed and in 2000 the multiple assassination of Senator Kelly and Bolivar Trask lead to the call for the arrest of nearly every known hero and mutant alive. Magneto opened up a home for all those on the run on the African Island of Genosha. For the next twelve years mutants lived in a peaceful society led by Magneto in isolation. Then in December of 2012, the humans had a big surprise. The Skrull had been living among them for years, working their way into the infrastructure of every major government. Now they were taking Earth for their own. General Nick Fury called for help of the former heroes in Exile on Genosha and in June 2015, the Skrull were defeated at last. A year later Kate Rasputin opened the Academy of Tomorrow on the site of the former Xavier Institute and now, in 2020, the first class is entering Summer Session of their senior year. The children of famous heroes are educated there with their own kind, finding structure, acceptance, and control of their abilities. A tentative push and it rises away from you, swinging to the side. Light filters in through windows above. You blink, your eyes adjusting to the shadowed room as you try to remember what happened. A thin layer of dust covers everything. There are no panes of glass in the windows. The virus. You remember now. They told you stasis was a precaution. Only a few weeks. A month, at best. Let them get the virus under control. Standing beside your pod, legs shaking from disuse, you feel a sense of apprehension creeping over you. Your heart beats even faster now. [18 May 2010|11:19pm] The Wizarding World has seen its fair share of suffering, such as the reign of Lord Voldemort that occurred not once, but twice. But, as it was foreseen, good triumphed over evil and the world gained peace. It seemed to be everlasting for witches and wizards everywhere, a great relief to those who feared the worst in the midst of rebuilding. Twenty-five years later, someone now threatens to destroy the peace that has come to be, though not in such a way that would strike fear in the general public. It's much worse: Hogwarts has a new Headmaster and the students aren't going to like him. Tiberius Ogden was just appointed the position of Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the summer, the former Headmaster, Matthew Harrison, having abruptly retired when he suddenly came upon a very large sum of money. The Ogden name is famous for its liquor, though Tiberius has no interest in making drunks out of his peers. No, Tiberius Ogden followed another path, one of strict behavior that came with wielding a firm hand rather than a tap. A retired Hit Wizard, Tiberius has known a life of hardship and determination and believes that today's youth are becoming weak-minded prats. As a way to change this, he quickly took up the position Headmaster Harrison wished to discard. Students will be in for quite the shock when they return to school to have their yearly start of term feast. Not only are they receiving a new Headmaster, but he comes with a whole new set of rules - rules so numerous in count that a book of them was created - something each student will find at their seat.
