For centuries, the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black have ruled the Wizarding World. The crown has passed from father to son, and never has the line been broken.

But it's almost the turn of the millennium, and that's all about to change when the crown prince, Sirius, defects from the line of succession, leaving his unmarried, disinterested brother Regulus to pick up the pieces. With political turmoil in the air as the line of succession plots against the new heir, with several families vying for power, it is only a matter of time before backstabbing, deceit, and murder take their place within the royal court.

But that isn't all. The Wizarding World must also contend with the Blackcoats, a group of witches and wizards whose goal is to see the monarchy demolished. They will do what must be done in order to tear down the royal family and the nobles who follow them, and they are more than willing to use deadly force if it means breaking free from the chains of the monarchy.

It isn't just freedom on the line - lives are at stake, and no one is safe. In a country on the brink of anarchy and open rebellion, both sides must fight to preserve what they believe in, no matter the cost.

Xavier Memorial Institute
the pacific coast is calling
An AU X-Men RPG

The nation was stunned when it was revealed that Graydon Creed killed Professor Charles Xavier on live television to prove he was a mutant. Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems. The Xavier Institute could no longer provide the necessary facilities for so many mutants, adult and child alike. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the Institute, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born.

XMI is an AU X-men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a high school and a university as well as a training facility. It is also the facility which houses the mutant team Legacy. The game is open to mutants age 16+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist.

Game Opens August 21st!

Durmstrang Uber Alles - A Durmstrang Harry Potter game on Inksome! [19 Aug 2009|05:59pm]
Premise

Tired of all the same Harry Potter games? No desire to play the Marauders, the Trio, or Next-Gen? Want to dabble in the Dark Arts, and not just learn defenses against them? Time to enroll at the prestigious Durmstrang Institute!

It's a whole new school year and there are some massive changes at the Durmstrang Institute. Headmistress Eberhardt, while pleased with the school's academic output, thinks students aren't well rounded enough. To that end there's been a push for shorter class schedules to allow students time for clubs. It's the perfect recipe for success: a sound mind in a sound body. Join any number of new clubs: the dueling club, the wizard's chess club, the school choir, the linguistics club, the archery and fencing club, or the young leaders society!

Let's just hope that all that fun doesn't come to an end when the shadow looming over the school finally makes its presence known. Because this school year's going to be a doozy.

Wanted Characters

Be unique! Play a Dark Path who's nice, but just so happens to like the intricacies of the Dark Arts. Or a Grey Path who's using Legilimency for less than scrupulous means. Pick a Light Path who isn't all sunshine and roses! Want to be in charge of helping arrange all the events on Durmstrang's social calendar? Run for the Social Events committee! Want to be the official commentator for Quidditch games? The position's open! The time to join is NOW.

PROLOGUE

You wake up one morning with a headache, you wonder if you're hung-over but you didn't drink anything last night so that can't be it and after taking a painkiller and heading to work you forget all about it. A few days later you think you back to your childhood and there's a memory that doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense and you try not to think about it because it sets you on edge and makes you feel uncomfortable.

It doesn't stop.

Maybe weeks go by, or maybe it's months, and someone turns up on your doorstep. Maybe they look official, or maybe they're wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but they introduce themselves and tell you that they're from something called 'The Agency', they sit you down and if you're lucky they'll make you a cup of tea or pour you a drink before explaining it all to you.

The memories are real, but they're someone else's, someone you always thought of as fictional. You're what they call a reincarnate, someone who's been reincarnated from this fictional person, brought into this world with magic that no one yet understands.

They talk about a war that's being fought between two sides of reincarnates, the good and the bad. You're not told what side to pick or that you need to, but you know that a day will come when you and the person you used to be and are possibly becoming will need to choose.

Welcome to St. Kilda, the most happening place in the wizarding world. It's 2024 and the war is a distant memory which the current young-in's are tiring of hearing. No, everyone is much more interested in watching the latest bands, wondering who will be the subject of the new Gossip Witch update or catching a quidditch game.

St. Kilda is a fun place where something is always happening: whether it be a bonfire down in the Cove, a party up on Gilderoy Point, a bustling market in the square, live bands in Snape Park or the fact your neighbour just had an affair with the hot guy from the bakery. We promise you won't be bored.

Hellfire Haven
Welcome to the Hellfire Club.

The existence of mutants is one of the hot issues of the day, capturing significant amounts of speculative attention from the media, though there is no firm verdict as to whether mutants are real or not. For perhaps most people, these stories of mutants seem a little too fantastic to be real or, even if they were, they seem like minor concerns compared to the issues and problems of their everyday lives.

For Sebastian Shaw, however, the issue of superhuman genetic mutation is not an abstract one, but a deeply personal one. There is a new community of superpowered individuals emerging in the world, one that is still small but already too numerous and powerful to ignore. It was with this in mind that Sebastian created the Hellfire Club, a place where mutants of all types could meet and network freely, without fear of discovery or the hysteric, fearful reactions of others.

The Hellfire Club is the linchpin of an ambitious plan to create a thriving mutant community in New York City, but like all open meeting places, it is home to many sorts of individuals. Many simply come for a sense of community or for a good time. Others come to quietly strike deals with other mutants, or with Sebastian and his personal circle. For all these people and many others, the Hellfire Club is open for business and pleasure.

Which are you in for?
