[25 Apr 2009|11:32am] At the beginning of time, Earth was created. It doesn’t matter who or what made it – if some great all-powerful being thought it and it was, or that it developed for millions of years before becoming what we know now. All that matters is that Earth was. Earth supported life, and it flourished. Creatures of all size and shape were born into this universe, each with their own purpose – their own fate. Each creature knew its place – all except one. Man. Man was, at first, a friend to all creatures, but after a time Man grew greedy. They multiplied and spread across the world, dominating it, devouring, controlling and destroying as they went. One day, the Earth said to Man; “If you cannot control yourselves, then I will find ways to control you.” But Man was the ruler of all creatures and would not listen. “Man is the most powerful creature in the universe,” they said, and this made the Earth angry. Earth was never going to last us until the end of eternity. Man’s footprint upon it was large and irreparable. In its last dying days, the Earth gave to each creature – except man – new strength, new power, and a fierce desire to hunt and kill the alleged rulers of all creatures. Earth could no longer support the life of Man, and we were forced to flee. Outcast from our own crumbling planet, we searched for years amongst the stars, desperate for a new home. The year is now 675 AE. The Warren is a facility lead by General Threarah. Fiver, who possesses the abilities of a seer, has a frightening premonition that tells of doom and destruction coming to the Warren. The Threarah refuses to listen to him, and so, with a small group, his brother Hazel leads the way to freedom on the rundown ship Watership Down. The roleplay begins three weeks after the escape, and just after the arrival of Holly and Jorelle. Fiver has blurry ideas of where they need to go. Somewhere they will be safe to start their own life – a planet, far away from the rule of Frith and Rainbow Corporation and the greed and war mongering of the Elil. The trouble, however … is getting there. All the universe will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; fighter, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed. Tolkien Halloween, 1981, the Dark Lord Voldemort fell at the hands of one-year old Harry Potter, bringing an end to a decade long reign of terror, to the relief of the entire Wizarding World. Death Eaters were imprisoned, wounds healed, and the Wizarding World spent the next decade healing from the pain of the first war. Yet, Voldemort was not truly defeated that night. He will rise once more, bringing upon another viscous war upon the Wizarding World. Everyone knows the story of Harry Potter, but until now, the story of what happened in between has been unknown. It is 1990, the year before Harry Potter will discover he is a Wizard. Professor Quirrell is off to Albania where he will become a vessel for the weakened Dark Lord, Charlie Weasley and his friends are in their sixth-year at Hogwarts, and the foundation for the future is being paved. It’s been thirty years since the war ended and Harry, Ron, and Neville have locked up as many Death Eaters as they could find by command of the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. The Minister was still getting a lot of flak from the Muggle Prime Ministers about the war and how many innocent Muggles were lost; the bottom line was they didn’t want it to happen again. They wanted their people to be better protected against threats from the Wizarding community, and so they gave Minister Shacklebolt an ultimatum: come out to the Muggle community of your own will or we’ll out you ourselves. After talking it over with his Undersecretary, Hermione Weasley, they both came the conclusion that it would look better on their part if they spoke with the Muggles and Muggle press willingly. On January 10th, 2025 Kingsley Shacklebolt and Hermione Weasley talked to Muggle and Wizarding press who broadcast it all around the world, telling them the whole sordid history. January 11th, as the children returned to school and sat down to read the morning paper they were all in shock to see what had happened. That day, Headmistress McGonagall assured everyone that there was nothing to fear, that the Minister hadn’t given away the location of the school and never would. They were all still safe there. The reactions from the student body were different; some thought it was about time, others didn’t have much of an opinion, and then there were those Pureblood elites that were against it whole heartedly. The large and empty screen ahead is your only source of light as you try to figure out how and why you’ve arrived here. Your last recollection before your dreamless night was lying down in your bed and drifting off to sleep. You thought you were safe. As you make your way to the outside you notice the sky a gloomy overcast that’s threatening rain, but the weather isn’t what bothers you; it’s that concrete wall surrounding the premises that has you worried. In the distance you can spot four tall buildings and even an Amusement Park, yet, as you continue to explore, any trace of an exit seems almost impossible. You’re trapped here. Walking further you suddenly hear a disembodied cry of something horrible; something deadly, and it sounds hungry. Adrenaline pumping through your veins you stop and look for the source of the noise, but can’t find anything. You continue to walk forward, thinking it’s all in your head, thinking maybe you’re being paranoid, but another retching scream calls out; now it’s right behind you. And suddenly you realize that the threat is real and you better be quick on your feet if you plan to survive. “Horrorwood” is a panfandom horror roleplay that takes place in an alternate city very similar to that of Hollywood, California, with the exception that the place has been barricaded from the outside world and is crawling with all too real monsters. Good guys, and even the bad guys, wake up to find themselves trapped and relying desperately on their keen survival instincts.
