Fugitives: An AU Heroes RPG [20 Jan 2009|12:16pm]
After the events of March 29th, 2007 our Heroes are disheartened, spread across the U.S., and quickly losing their numbers. And to make matters worse, one of their own was working up a plan that would sacrifice his peers to better himself. As if that weren't enough, someone is out there with malicious intent toward people who are "special". Someone is hunting and rounding up anyone with abilities. No one knows who the hunter is or where the hunter comes from. And no one knows where their peers are going. Will opposing sides find allies in each other to end this menace, or will they do as they always have and serve only themselves and their own purposes? Only time will tell... and time is something they're running out of.

Liberalis
A Post-Warts AU Game

During what was supposed to be the final battle between The Boy Who Lived and the Dark Lord, Harry released an arsenal of spells that were backed by the anger and pain that Voldemort had caused him throughout his entire life. Voldemort saw escape as his only choice for survival, and used a simple Time Turner to flee the battle field. While Harry, exhausted and losing consciousness soon after the end of the battle, knew that He couldn't possibly have been killed due to the fact that The Locket still hadn't been found and destroyed, the rest of the Wizarding World celebrated the death of The Dark Lord. The Trio eventually continued to search for the final Horcrux following his feigned death, but it was nowhere to be found and after years of silence on his part, they slowly began to give up hope.

Four years later in the summer of 2002, the people lived in peace and led normal lives once again, even with the mixing of the two worlds. But within the peace there lies a hatred in the dark forests of the Highlands; a shadow darker than any other and it calls to its loyal followers. Lord Voldemort would not accept defeat.

After returning in the public eye, Voldemort has led his followers into attacks on the Ministry's New Years Ball, St. Mungo's, and just recently - The Ministry of Magic itself. Scattered and with hundreds of losses, the Ministry has pulled together what they have left after the attack. The Aurors, along with the Law Enforcement Squad, and their new Minister, Percy Weasley, are working vigorously to hunt down as many Death Eaters as they can and prepare England for war.

The Order, only recently informed several months ago about the Horcruxes, is getting in gear to prepare for a battle for the Locket. Knowing that they have to do everything in their power to end this war before it begins, they may not realize how soon darkness will come.

Liberalis is a Harry Potter Game based in the year 2003. We've been running for 2 1/2 years and have at least 70 current characters. We've recently revamped and paused the game to let everyone catch up on their histories and to recruit new members. We're an incredibly friendly bunch and plot between characters is abundant. We'd love to have anyone join us who's interested in a deep plot and playing in a development-friendly game that will soon become increasingly darker. We recommend you take a look at the following links before holding a character:

Forgotten Gods [20 Jan 2009|04:24pm]
About / Rules / Cast List / Held / Wanted / FAQ / Resources / Apply

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?

Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.

And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.

Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.
Wanted:
Greek: Eros, Cronus, the Furies; more Olympians! Especially Zeus, Poseidon, Athena and Artemis
New Gods: The Internet, Fast Food, Television, Highways, Fashion Industry, Radio
Christian/Hebrew: Deadly Sins (Greed and Gluttony), Holy Virtues (all), Adam, Eve

With the HIV pandemic come and gone, the global population faces another risk: global infertility. Irregardless of nationality, ethnicity, lifestyle or life regimen, no children have been born anywhere on the planet in the past fifteen years. Panic abounds. Extremist governments come to power in most countries. The whisper of a cure becomes a chant and soon rumors become reality.
The United States government announces a treatment that can restore fertility among its people. However, fertility comes at a cost. Legislation has quickly been passed. The treatment will only be administered under certain conditions. An individual must be in good health, between the ages of 16-50, and married. Furthermore, participation for all eligible individuals is not optional. Unmarried individuals of age will be listed in a lottery, and married with the intent to start a family.
Institutions have been erected. Before all matched couples are sent into their forced cohabitation, they are required to spend time together in government sanctioned counseling centers. Once each month they are required to undergo the fertility treatment, and they are expected to produce a child. Failure for one or both to do so will result in imprisonment until they comply.
Neo Genesis is an arranged marriage RPG set in a universe parallel to our own. We welcome all characters and storylines within the realm of reason. For more information, please consult the timeline here and the FAQ here.

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.

In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus.

You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves.

Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty.

rules faq cast & holds mods wiki

Dusty back roads, motels that have seen better days, sigils and latin, and shotguns filled with rocksalt. It might not be much, but for those who call themselves hunters, that's what they call home.

Welcome to the world of Supernatural.

Most hunters can make it thirty years without ever facing the worst of their nightmares. Spirits, vampires, werewolves: those are the easy ones. Most hunters never signed up for fending off the friggin' apocalypse.

66 seals are all that stand between humanity and Hell on Earth. One by one, the seals are breaking, and day by day, the lines are becoming more blurred. In preparation for Lucifer's return, demons are surfacing en masse -- in numbers far greater than even Azazel could have imagined. They're laying the land to waste, and hunters are far out-numbered. But they're not alone: angels walk the earth for the first time in two-thousand years.

The war has been raging for the better part of a year. The question is, which side are you on?

Opening delayed until Sam Winchester is filled; seeking Ruby, Bobby, and others!
