As the crew of Galactica jumped into the orbit of the green and blue planet, a wave of shouting erupted throughout the entire ship. They had finally made it. Friends embraced each other, lovers kissed, and children bounced happily. The truce between the Cylons and Humans remained steady as each gazed upon the beautiful planet known as Earth. They had found their new home, and they were going to share it. The planet would help continue the existence of each race, or so they thought.

The few that were given the chance to step foot on the ground soon found the planet not to be up to their expectations. There was nothing left; the planet was in ruin. Something had happened many years before their arrival. How could this desolate place be home of the Thirteenth Tribe? How could it be home to anyone? The group looked over the land, unable to comprehend what could possibly have done this to a planet. There was silence; everyone was too surprised to speak, and too downtrodden to suggest that it was only part of the planet.

Before anyone had a chance to return to the Raptor, Dr. Gaius Balter stumbled across a piece of technology that was foreign to him. He stood in front of the DHD and peered over it, recognizing the shapes as constellations. In fact, he recognized quite a few of them, from this galaxy and their home galaxy. As he examined the device, Six appeared next to it, whispering in his ear and telling him to punch in a certain code. He listened to her, and did as he was told. Within moments, the watery-vortex that was the wormhole burst forth through the ring-like portal and the group was taken aback.

The group cautiously approached the Stargate, curious as to what type of technological capabilities the 'Thirteenth Tribe' possessed. It was Kara Thrace, triggered by something in her memories, that passed through the Event Horizon first, followed shortly after by Lee and Sam. It wasn't long until the rest of the group made their way through. What awaited them on the other side was something that would surprise them even more: the past.

A glitch in the system allowed the group to bypass Atlantis' precautionary measures, and they all arrived on the other side, guns pointed at them and Dr. Elizabeth Weir gazing down at them. And that is where the battle for humanity continued, for the groups all worked together to keep the Wraith and Ori from teaming up and destroying Earth together...

The Event Horizon is a Battlestar Galactica/Stargate RP that allows for most characters from the series (New BSG, SG-1 & Atlantis) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place during the last season of SG-1/season 3 of Atlantis and the last season of BSG. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still. There is a whole range of characters available, and OCs are welcomed. If you think you are ready to cross the Event Horizon, then we're here to meet you on the other side.

We're Currently Looking for: ALMOST EVERYONE!

WILL OPEN WHEN THERE ARE 5 MEMBERS
(or if we want to start earlier)

Hallowed Ground [09 Sep 2008|09:45pm]
The outcome is known, but how was it reached?

In late spring of 1997, Albus Dumbledore was killed by Severus Snape, and the Wizarding World changed. Hallowed Ground is an RPG community for writers interested in exploring the intricacies of what followed, reaching deep beyond that's already known. Deathly Hallows has provided us a road map to our destination but the journey is ours to write, ours to fill in and flesh out. Come discover where everyone who wasn't Ron, Harry, or Hermione went after fleeing Bill & Fleur's wedding, listen to the Sorting Hat's song for a new Headmaster, watch the DA reform and scheme up protests to the Carrows reign, the Death Eaters plan attacks on Muggle and Wizarding societies from inside the Ministry of Magic, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strive to keep a light shining in the dark. Join us in our endeavor to develop the adventures unseen as time winds down to a final battle unlike any writing experience you've had.

Hallowed Ground is searching for the absolute fullest compliment of cast possible. We accept any character mentioned in the seven Harry Potter books who is known to be alive on 1 July, 1997, and encourage insightful takes on both characters we know loads about and particularly ones we've barely met. The game will be played in real time, with some flexing as we approach the holiday season to allow for players' personal schedules. It is set to start 1 November, 2008 (1 July, 1997 in game) and end 19 August, 2009 (19 April 1998 in game), with as much time as is needed after to properly finish threads. Applications are being accepted now; both so that our players have time to get to know each other before we begin, and also so that we might get a majority of characters cast before the stories start, as it's harder to justify adding a character after significant events have passed unplayed. Players are asked to work with canon to develop their own path through the known story lines as we write, as there is already so much available room to maneuver.

Writers interested in applying should know that this will be a very community oriented game, with opportunities to develop friendships, contribute ideas, help see them to fruition, and have your voice heard. Moderating will be done by a council of founders to start, with elected players rotating the founders as we progress, preventing power trips and encouraging player participation while still providing the necessary assistance and guidance to make a game run smoothly. Experience is not required; we firmly believe that a writer brand new to RPG can develop a character fabulously and fully. Seasoned players are also happily accepted with their favourite known characters or brand new explorations, now is your chance to let someone new invade your brain! Have you ever dreamed you were someone else and it was so vivid that, for a moment, you were convinced you were that person. It couldn't be, of course. That person isn't even real and dreams are just dreams, right?

Or, maybe not.

A series of people, all around the world, are experiencing that very thing and, as it turns out, there's much more to it than it being just a dream. Those people are all reincarnations of fictional characters - imaginarily people from literature, mythology, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, etc. They don't have conscious memories of their past lives, but, boy, do they dream about them. Some of them even have special abilities related to their former selves.

The dreams can be good or bad, but the one thing they all are is vivid. Those affected might feel like they're going crazy at first, at least until they begin to discover that there are more people like them, that these aren't just random, recurring dreams.
